OK, so now I'm looking for a place to order Lillium, Phlox, Dahlia's, Jack-in-the-pulpit, Toad Lily's, etc. for Zone 5.

I have a Heronswood catalog, but it doesn't have much of what I want, and they run out of things quickly.

So I need suggestions ...

What about Veseys. They're out of PEI Canada.
I've oredered several perennials from them...Especially Lilium and other bulbs. I've been happy so far. I don't think I'd buy DL"s from them though. They'd likely be TC.

I didn't look at the Dave's reviews, but my experiences were not positive. It's been a number of years since I ordered, but I remember nothing being quite like it was advertised.

I guess daylilies and bearded iris have been the only flowers I've been satisfied buying mail-order. Wayside, Jackson & Perkins, Bluestone Perennials and perennials purchased off eBay didn't work for me. Depending on the time of your garden tour, maybe you'd do well with flowering summer bulbs. There are a number of good sources for dahlia and lily bulbs.

I've bought from Van Bourgondien in the past with very good results, and I plan to order again this year. I've bought hardy geraniums, dahlias, glads, caladiums and liliums that were excellent. My sister orders dahlias from there every year with good results. She's as crazy about dahlias as I am about daylilies.

Although we've never bought from these folks..they should have hardy stuff. We get a catalog every year and have thought about giving them a try, but alas there is never enough money come spring from Daylily buying through the winter. 8-0

Bluestone Perennials is very good and fairly inexpensive. Their plants are generally small though, and sold in three packs, but they do seem to grow quickly. Garden Crossings has superior size plants and their packaging for shipping is better than most. However you will pay more for their plants. I do buy a lot of plants from both companies and have been very pleased with what I've got

I had very poor luck. Three out of three wrong and the one that got replaced was still the wrong one. Try someone else.

Long time no talk! Besides catalogs, a couple places local that have unusual plants are Menne on N.F. Blvd. and Mike Weber at Clinton and Old French(across the street from Dan Majeski's which I don't care for.) There's also a place out in Niagara county that I always go to out on Saunder's Settlement, but I can't remember the name at the moment. They sell wonderful new varieties too, lol. When I remember, I'll repost.
Also, lots of great plants at the plant exchange Tara/Gardenfrog holds at her place in the beginning of June. Brenda/Gottagarden always brings huge clumps of beautiful Dahlias. She always brings too much and trys to push them on people, lol. People do bring great plants like the phlox 'Laura' that I got last year, not all no name stuff you know. Oh and I always bring lots of goodies. : )

I used to go to Menne's all the time, now that I've moved to the Southtowns I got to Lockwoods instead. I was thinking of going to Sara's this Spring, it's outside Rochester and known for a good selection and decent prices.

I'll have to look for the plant exchange, I've always meant to attend, but haven't yet. I have tons of stuff I could bring ...

Let me know if you think of the other place in Niagara County...
