Can you prune jade this time of year?

Hello All!

I have a few jade cuttings that I rooted from branches off a larger plant about two years ago. They have turned into lovely plants and I just separated them into their own pots.

I am planning to send the largest one to a friend in the spring. It is a bit leggy on top and I was wondering if I could nip it back a little bit now to see if it will bush out a bit more before I send it to her.

The only reason why I think it is possible to do this now is because (due to my northern climate) I have moved the jade into a warmer room with grow-lights and it has put on more growth in the past few weeks, under lights, than it did all summer in its original spot in an east facing window.

Do you think it is safest if I just leave it be, or could I get away with taking a few inches off the top?

It is about a foot tall with a trunk diameter of about 2cm.

If I do prune it I intend to raise it a little closer to the lights.

I am going to attempt to post a pic. (Wish me luck, I haven't done this before) Hehe!

P.S. I know the pot is a little large but it was the best I have.

Thanks you all for your opinions.
