Some trees in the background of these pics are red oaks, they are in a row, like behind the Beech, behind the 7 yr inground Burr oak in my other post of pics from my yard. They are either N R Oak or Nuttall's, maybe Shumard's. I have a row of Q. Bicolor near my property line also. More than likely these trees weren't noticed, if I didn't point them out.

LW, I understand what you mean. It's a journey from a little immature plant to what you see when it matures. I was aware that it'd take a few seasons at least to grow into the looks you'll see in the hosta library. I got mine last year, and this year, I do see more wavy margins, and the corrugation is starting to show. It's on it's way; Not the perfect plant for the impatient gardener, in my personal opinion. You've seen pics of a mature one, I'm sure. THAT is why we bought this one, eh? : ) Cheers, buddy Don B.

They are just getting started...I am in a contest with someone in N.C. to see who can grow the biggest one. They are getting more attention,fert,etc than ever so this could be a great year for them. However,wind hail and such can put an end to that at any time which is kind of a shame. Click for weather forecast

jesper - you may be right. I just googled pics of both darleen and maxime and it looks a lot more like maxime. I got it in a tuber swap this year and the trader may have named it wrong - thanks for pointing it out.

Very nice mandolls......i love the white ones.....i have the hardest time growing the white flowers....the bugs seem to go after them first....

Very nice pictures, I love the last picture, its a very pretty arrangement! You definetely have an eye for flower arranging. And I love the Dr John Kaiser!

Carol - A lot of people have trouble with the white Dahias, This is the first year my whites have looked so good. I havent used any poisons, but the pic I posted at this link (at the bottom of the thread) may explain why mine seem bug free this year.
