Thank you so much everyone! I love sharing my garden with you! -dawiff, I believe you are looking at the Rhubarb plant. Isn't it neat? I love the fact that it is edible and decorative. It gets some shade, which I think makes it grow even larger. The blooms are neat too; they are like giant Astilbes. And it looks so alien-like comming out of the ground in spring. -Annie, oh you are wonderful! Thank you for your kind comments, they are very much appreciated. ;-) -Nell, tulips in July! If only I could! I am having trouble finding things to fill the space. I am trying to find an evergreen shrub and a few larger plants to fill the space. I am always at a loss as to what to put in full sun. If this were a shade garden it would already be full, lol! I was thinking of: a late blooming tree Peony in yellow, white, or orange-ish, a gold evergreen shrub, Ironweed, a large perennial geranium, and a large type of Euphorbia. Maybe a rose too, though I am a little wary of roses, since I don't have the best of luck with them sometimes. I also want to put some focal point there, like an obelisk or statue. What do you guys think of those plants? Have any other suggestions? Oh! I forgot to post this pic. I like this one. I had a row of Iris here, but took them out and replaced them with large rocks to finish the pathway. It looks so much better. CMK

I like the small narcissus too, I have a few, but a couple are just TOO small. Way to hard to see when they are only a few inches tall & small blooms too. Good luck with the epimediums. I started out with 4 that I traded for. Their previous owner wasn't having luck with them. They were really tiny that first year, & I lost 1. The other 3 took a while to get started, but are going pretty well now. I love their delicate little flowers, but I wouldn't call them showy. I do love the grape hyacinths, I always wait til after they finish blooming to start digging them out :) I'll still have plenty next year, it is impossible to get all those little bulbs. Probably shouldn't tell you the cat's name, Kay :) His official name is Roadkill, we call him Roady. I found him as a kitten in the middle of a busy intersection one morning on my way to work. I stopped my car in the road, got out, & barely grabbed him by the tail before he could run under the car. I guess he was grateful, because he is a wonderful lap cat. He is always with me when I garden. I should get a picture sometime of him when he is "helping". My method of weeding is kneeling, leaning on my stomach over a stool. Seems to take pressure off my back & knees that way, although I'm sure I'm a sight to behold. Often, Roady will be sitting on my back, overseeing the work. Thanks Rita. If you need any hyacinths, let me know & I'll send some your way :) As for the trees behind the magnolia, the one closest is a pussy willow, the far one is a flowering pear. I don't think it is a Bradford pear, the shape is different, & we haven't lost any limbs out of this one. I didn't get any clump pictures of my Red Marley daffs, but I really like them. Professor Einstein and Red Devon are really nice too A blurry Red Marley Cindy, I believe Manly is one that I was debating on getting. Looks a little like Gold Ducat, but would be nice to have one that doesn't flop.

Linda, I liked SHT so much last year, I ordered two more (red is my favorite color). I now have 3 nice little clumps of it. Dot, Scared of a turtle? LOL! Actually, my brother-in-law has a small scar on his cheek where a snapping turtle bit him. My husband was holding the turtle while he was riding his bike and his little brother was sitting up on the handlebars...when the snapping turtle reached out and grabbed his face and wouldn't let go...Ouch! There were just kids, and they tell that story at least once a year...so I know it made quite an impact on them. :-) daffodillady, I think a lot of box turtles are used to people because they are so long lived and were probably kept as pets at some point in their lifetime. gg, Box turtles will eat just about anything if they are hungry (even dog food). We've had about a dozen or so through the years when our son was growing up. We had a mating pair that had 4-6 little ones every year. They'd stay awhile and then wander off. Kathy

Floota; Yep,I done it again and have the wrong name on the first one.The right name for it is CHERRY VALENTINE. Rita, corrected me on it,and I knew she was right the minute she said it is NOT DRAGON KING.. I do use a Digital Camera, too,and it does have the auto focus on it.If it didn't , my photo's would probably be a lot worse :)I do not hold it at arms length, but don't hold it right at my face either.I probably have it 10 inches from my face most of the time,and hold my arms in close to my body to be able to hold the camera more steady.Too much trouble to get the tripod out,and I imagine the neighbors and passer bys think I am nuts anyway, out taking photo's of flowers. I can use all the help I can get to take better photos. Jean
