Planting large cuttings of prickly pear

Hi. My friend was moving out of his house and I cut some large multiple-pad branches off his large prickly pear tree. I've laid them out for a few days and today I dug holes in the back yard, threw in some cactus/palm soil mix and planted these branches in the ground. They range from about 3-5 feet tall. What are the chances these branches will root and survive??????Thanks for any info.

Andy
