i'm in south georgia, and the variety of tangerine is called "dancy". another thing i didn't mention is that i have three other citrus trees in containers, all with dark green leaves and my kumguat has been loaded down every year for at least 5 yrs. the other trees are young and i expect them to bare next year, but the leaves on my tangerine are light green,even toward yellow. could there be something wrong such as root-rot?

I think she's learning about trees and stuff at nursery(she's 3 1/2, the 1/2 is important!) and autumn is approaching so lots of tree fruits about(conkers, nuts and of course pine cones,she loves pine cones!) She'll be on here in a few years with her own account, I wont be able to get a word in!

Jalcon, there's a wide window of suitability for pruning junipers. Mid-growing season is a good all-around time, as any cuts made then will have at least some time to begin closing. I have seen junipers pruned in the late winter burn up pretty bad, but that's here in Wisconsin, where any time prior to April-heck, may as well throw April in to some years-dry cold winds can develop which suck the life out of recently cut branch tips. If you're in a milder winter climate regime, this may matter less. But that mid-growing season is always workable. Big old Thuja plicata-possibly even old-growth? It's getting to be a long time ago, but I once spent a summer at a place called Shawnigan Lake which I believe is/was somewhere near Nanaimo BC. The campus was replete with very large T. plicatas......some of the nicest trees I've ever seen.
