I wouldn't think there was enough room there. If these are 2 different varieties and the "tequila" one is smaller than A. Americana, then maybe there is. Looks tight though with the queen palm, the aloes, hesperaloe, the sago and that column cactus (euphorbia?).
Anyways, when will the tequila be ready?
And is that a working mailbox? The mailman might not relish delivering mail to you after a few years of growth.
At a place where I sometimes get burritos for lunch there is an octopus agave in a half-barrel with a couple of nice pups. I'm thinking I might ask for one of those pups next Spring.

No,it's the true Agave tequiliana.A selected type called Webbers' blue or azure. It's a layered grouping with each reaching a different height over time. The palm is Howea forsteriana. The close grouping also gives more protection from cold-and people....
It's about a ten year wait for getting out my machete and Agave crusher and distiller.I have the empty bottle, minus worm, ready!

Josh,it was that they would get root rot in bay area winters.But,I have never had an Aloe sp. rot on me in winter here in Hayward. A winter ave of 62 and 42 with 14-18" of rain is only dangerous to potted succulents. My in ground plants I have planted intensively over the last 5 years are still there. It's been gopher or five finger visitors that have been the problem.

oh,and thats a "winter" of mid December to late January. all other times seem to be spring or summer like weather...

It seems that most of the common advice for succulents is for people living in continental climates. That is why you hear people suggesting absolutely no water in winter for summer growers, and barely any even for winter growers! Those of us lucky enough to live in temperate, tropical, or subtropical climates can grow these plants totally differently. In fact, this weekend I was talking with Petra from RareSucculents.com, and she showed me *two* D. gigas that she has planted in the ground here in Los Angeles. They both survived three winters now with no special attention, and even made it through a 27F freeze without showing any damage at all! Stan, your yard is another testament to fact that a) plants are generally hardier and easy to keep in the ground and b) wet winters aren't as bad as people say, as long as day time highs are reasonable (and of course drainage must be excellent).

Hoovb,I have never seen one in person,but from have read they are not nearly the mass of A.americana. The width is about 4' for A.tequiliana with a ultimate height of 5'. The warmer the climate the more they sucker-but that comes with(almost) all Agave keeping. After awhile you develop a certain technique about pruning these big boys to fit in a small yard if your determined enough. Some judicious pruning is keeping my americana from reaching anywhere's close to an unpruned with suckers,plant. As funny as it sounds,my americana since i removed all pups two years ago hasn't sent many up since..easy to keep up with production .
Josh,I'm very tempted to plant my D.gigas.I'm the one who has posted that it has sailed through bay area winters un blemished. It's taken a few 32's over that time. The big freeze? I brought it in. But,since we should go another half a decade and more without below 30,That's quite a few years of good ground growing. And for the few days every twenty years we get very cold-I could do something to protect an in ground plant. This spring my wife brought it since she like the glossy leaves...never again! D.gigas hated a hot dry sunny window.. one lousy house plant.Outside it does and looks great.

I have my Agave tequilana's in large pots and have to bring them under cover for the winter.
I just found out I have never had 100% Blue Agave tequila.
All I have ever had is a frozen margarita and they are usually made with Jose Cuervo and it is not 100% Blue Agave.
I just bought a bottle 2 weeks ago mainly for the beautiful bottle. Trying to get up nerve to open it.
It has an added flavor from a damiana flower.

The photos show a field of the bluer Tequila and the regular not as blue,almost gray plants.If you see the blue in person,they are an almost elegant shade of blue.Regal.
