Lemon bush raising

Hello all

I planted a lemon pip from my own lemon bush and it grew. I put it in the garden and it grew really well, over a meter but it never fruited. I would like to try again to raise a lemon bush from pip. Is it possible or not?

Thankful for any tips on raising your own citrus fruit.

Certainly possible, but you have to have a lot of patience to wait for flowers and fruits.
In the very best citrus climates seedlings may flower in a minimum of 4-5 years. In a nearly impossible citrus climate (like here in the UK), seedlings take anything from 12 to 20 years to start fruiting.
Rooting a cutting from your original plant, or growing a seedling and then grafting from your original plant, will shorten the process.

i am not familiar with this... but thought to myself.. scent varies over the season ... by late fall.. the leaves can be thick and leathery ... and not quite as fragrant as new shoots in spring ... so you got one good sniffer.. if you can define the scent.. with as much specificity as you did ...... but try again.. in spring ... if it should be IDd as such.. and worth keeping.. ken

Hello, I'd really like some of your bush lemon seed if possible. I have Aristolochia fimbriata, Bixa orellana, Caesalpinia pulcherrima seeds to trade now. Also have a large crop of Cananga odorata seed almost ripe. Will have some if the cockies don't get to them first. Regards, Brendon

Thanks so much for this hopeful post. I had a new gallon own-root of Eliza which somehow managed to dry out; it defoliated and the stems died back. I thought it might revive better in a sunny, moist area of the border so I stuck it in there and put a tag in front of it (with no stems it is otherwise invisible!) Hope some life remained in those roots, I'll leave it there until fall.
