Can I pinch candles on full size Scot's pine to control size?

We have 3 Scot's pine on the west and northwest corner of our property. They vary in height from 10' - 15'. I would like to put a patio in front of the trees. They provide the only afternoon shade we have on our property, so please don't recommend that I take them out. (That's the advice I often get from this forum when I ask for advice on these pines. I would like usable advice on how to maintain what I have. Removing them is not an option.) I don't want the trees growing too far into the area where the patio will be situated. See the attached photo. Is it possible to pinch the candles of the branches that will grow towards the patio to slow down their growth? If so, should I pinch all the way around the trees up to a certain height? Thanks.
