At a local garden center this week and saw that the latest shipment brought in some 5' abies Koreana silver show for only $79. I love the cones on these trees. I know abies are a major challenge in the Midwest heat. I'm hoping to hear from texjagman and others who are (I think) doing it successfully here in OK or like climates. My thought is that if I put it on the east side of the house where it gets full shade in the afternoon I would have a chance? I've read that silberlocke is somewhat tough in the heat, is this cultivar the same? Is wind protection in the heat important, or just the blazing sun? Tree has a warranty, so I am tempted.
