Wintering my dwarf citrus outside?

I have three dwarf citrus plants; a lemon, a tangerine, and an orange. I usually winter them indoors (my zone is 6b) otherwise they will drop their leaves as they are deciduous. I'm thinking about letting them stay outside this winter and going through the dormancy stage. I'm hoping the frost will just freeze them and not kill them. I'm also planning on transferring them to their own barrels.

What do you guys think?
