Rooting Picea abies 'Cupressina' - Columnar Norway Spruce

Hello,

A little over a month ago we had a massive snow storm in NJ. To my dismay a branch on my Columnar Norway Spruce snapped under the weight of the snow. It is about 12" with new buds all over it. I tend to get bored in the winter so I said what the heck, made a nice cut where it had snapped, dipped it in Clomex, threw peat moss in a fishbowl, dampened the peat moss, placed the cutting in the bowl and covered it with a large baggie that makes a good seal.

Today I notice the buds on the cutting are starting to emerge. Am I just delaying the inevitable or is there hope it might take root?

Thanks,

-Mike
