Weekend Trivia: Sunday

Good morning, dear cottagers. I hope you are all in the middle of a relaxing weekend, or, failing that, a productive one. I'm somewhere between relaxing and productive - loaf a little, paint the house a little, repeat as necessary.

Some men that were hard chargers, unlike me, even on my best days, were the riders of the Pony Express. You probably remember the advertisement that reportedly read "Wanted: Young, skinny, wiry fellows not over eighteen. Must be expert riders, willing to risk death daily. Orphans preferred."

The Pony Express was started in 1860. See if you can guess the year that it ended. I expect that at least one of you will know this, so I have a followup question ready, just in case.
