Caleb James!

Meet my newest Grandson, Caleb James! Caleb was born on 08/11/08. He shares his birth date with my late father. Dad would have liked that. He was delivered by emergency C-section and both he and his mother are doing great. We think he is just beautiful. That is me, holding the sweet little thing, in this picture.

This is my older daughter, Celina, at her baby shower last month. She was so fluid filled with this pregnancy and this picture shows it! IRL she's a tiny little 100#-er. She gained more than 100 lbs. with this baby. She will be a stay at home mom now.

This is my little cowpoke, Ethan. He stayed with us during the last three weeks of his mother's pregnancy. He's a good worker and will make a good ranch hand someday. He needs a little time to get taller though. Ha!

This is how a little farm hand looks at the end of a day of harvesting wheat. He was so tired when he came back from the field but he was right up from bed the next morning ready to go to work at 7:00 AM.

This is my younger daughter, Alyssa. This is how farm girls look mid-day when the temps are over 100 F. and they have been rebuilding a baler all morning. This is a true girl-y girl but you'd never guess it from this picture.

This picture is proof that I really do have a garden. There are many more pictures (181 new ones ack!) on my Photobucket page. I haven't edited them yet so just get a good laugh over my photo taking capabilites as you browse.

Thanks for the peek into the life of a farming ranch family, Memo. I'm impressed that Alyssa can fix big machinery! Congratulations, Ethan looks to be a big, healthy grand baby!!

What a beautiful grandbaby! Grandchildren are the best. You never understand what all the fuss is about until you have your own! Your flowers look great.

I love him! I love him! I love him! (... and where he goes I'll follow....) Oh you know the rest. Something about oceans and... I completely understand your problem with the cord. You don't want to spoil the perfect geometry of his undercarriage with a random curly-curve. What color is the lamp cord? It looks like it might be brown, or black? A quick and easy start would be to paint it white. Yep, paint it. Might disguise it just enough. If it still bothers you, you should follow your instincts and shorten it and attach it to his leg. I get the Moose/Muffin decorating concept. I once started out by changing a shower handle, and ended up gutting three rooms of my house. Totally worth it.

I've come to see that there's no "right" answer on this and you should do what seems best in each situation. We had our floors re-done recently and I did tip the refinishers for a job extremely well done, they were thorough and conscientious and went way beyond what they needed to do. The head man called later to say thank you for both of them, and told me it had enabled his assistant to buy a new tire for his wife's car, she was driving around on one that was dangerously bald with a lump. It made me realize when the heart says to do something, do it. I hadn't thought of it being anything but an expression of my gratitude, but when it became apparent that what I considered to be a relatively small amount was something really big to the other person, and really NEEDED, I was very glad I'd erred on the side of being generous and tipping. I would not tip someonebody who didn't do a good job though. Rewards need to be earned or they are meaningless.

"If this was the installing company, the system should still be under MFG part warranty at least if the system was registered." Not likely. We don't know the specific Lennox series furnace the OP has, but unless it's their Signature Series, the warranty period on covered components is five years or less. --------------------------- The builder wrong as usual... Builder Grade information. click to enlarge: Lennox low end Merit Series. Lennox Off Brand Equipment: Yeah even it has a 10 year warranty period when properly "registered" --- see builders don't do that. (contractual obligations of middle men festivals get in the way) Aire Flo (Lennox low tier brand) Yeah even it has a 10 year part warranty, registration required. click to enlarge Limitations of this "extended part warranty": It must be installed "properly" & maintained properly, it must be the "original purchasing owner" If the property is sold after the fact, the warranty reverts back to 5 year parts. (They have their purpose, building new stuff is about it.) I am all for builders... building. What a sweet new grandson and Ethan is adorable. He looks like a hardworker, as does your daughter. I think it's cool that she knows how to work on big equipment and is still a girly-girl.

Beautiful family!

Fixing a baler brings back farm memories for me! My family used mules for plowing when I was a little kid. By teenage years, I drove an old tractor before a car. I'll never forget the first time that I let the clutch out too quickly and the thing reared up with me! My job was driving the tractor and raking the hay into rows so that it could be baled. I remember that my dad would plow in early spring at night (using the lights on the tractor) when he got home from work. The fox family would come out and catch mice as he turned over the ground. That farm is now an airport! Time changes everything.

Not to divert too much from Memo .....but, I'm another farmer's daughter and give Alyssa lots of credit for balancing the girly-girl w/farmhand skills - yea, Alyssa!

I also learned to drive on tractor type equipment and benefitted from the education a dairy farm life gives a kid. "My" farm is now a golf course and I had a hand in that transformation too. Yep, time changes everything.

How sweet! Thanks for sharing. I'd like to look half as good in 90 degree weather while sipping tea on the porch, let alone after doing hard labor. No way will any pics of that hit the Internet any time soon. ; )

Congratulations to you and your family MeMo, and a big welcome to Caleb James!!! Great name too, very nice ring to it and he is adorable. Great family pix, each and every one. Your lil cowpokes are BOTH so handsome (meaning baby cowpoke Caleb and big lil pokey one Ethan) and daughters both so very lovely (your older daughter reminds me of my daughter), and you look so happy and full of love holding your new grand son, MeMo! Thank you for sharing these with us. Oh, and your garden is beautiful, so cheerful and I love the pink roses, which variety is it ?--it's gorgeous!
