About me: We’ve been in our home in Roanoke, Virginia since 2001. After we ruined several lawnmowers and hauled out tons of trash, the yard was nearly a blank slate. Since then, I’ve slowly gotten rid of the lawn. The back yard is still being planted up.
Some of my interests are carnivorous plants and bog gardens in general, vermicomposting, and fruits and edible ornamentals. I consider most of my garden a ’cottage’ garden.
I built (with loads of help) a coop and added a flock of hens to my yard in early 2007. So far, so good.
