I wish you could send some of those temps down here. Not great for citrus but it'd be a nice change from 95 and 100% humidity here. I'm looking forward to the weekend with a high of 89!

We're looking at 51. Not quite that cold here yet! But after this hot summer 51 will feel downright frigid!

The citrus are outside though and I think they'll be fine as long as it warms up tomorrow (it will).

hairmetal4ever ..At night I have a Milk House heater going in the greenhouse.During the day I have to ventilate because it gets to hot. We have some nice weather ahead of us. When I was young, I could walk on top of the snowbanks and touch the telephone wires ,Its is very nice here but when one gets older it gets harder..Dale

I could use a cool down. Yesterday it was 96 here, I think the low tonight will be 77 with about 100% humidity.

Ok...my citrus from seed (will be 2 years old this winter)sat out last night and the temp on my wireless digitemp gause registered 40.6...i figured, if my tomatoes can take it, so can my citrus.

I'll bring them inside when the temps go mid 30ish consistently??? I need a greenhouse!

Come down here to Louisiana. Temps this past weekend were in the upper 90s with 100% humidity. Bring on the lemonade? Dale, send a cool breeze my way. We could sure us it!

I personally can't wait to get out of South Florida. The heat and hurricanes are just too much. Sure, my greenhouse and heating bills are higher but when you factor in the fact that I hate going outside 4 months out of the year, it all balances out.

Tam, if you don't mind my asking, what made you decide to move? Are u from Fl or VA or elsewhere?
Heck, I'd be happy living in VA, lol, it's much warmer there w/longer summers..so I don't think your gas bill should be too bad..I hope not. Do you know how long winters are in VA? Toni

36 degrees sounds lovely right now. Our heat index is 97, down from 110 last week.

South Florida is a lousy place to live. I'm a native, so I've seen the changes for the worse over the years. It is dirty, crowded, hot, humid, insect-infested, expensive and the storms are enough to make you want to just give up....

People are stressed, tired, crazy and nearly everyone has a cell phone embedded in their head.. Traffic is HORRIBLE! Day to day living is a trial-just trying to get to work safely is a challenge.

We are *still* trying to fix/replace what last year's hurricanes destroyed. And we were lucky compared to many. My house is closed up now, dark and cool, since Katrina threatened. The Heck with it, I'm leaving the steel panels up!! We are probably going to get slammed again..

We are losing all our big pine trees. All were injured by the storms, now beetles are killing them faster than we can take them out. I have over 100 mature pines that will need to be dropped, cut, stacked, and carried out - by two exhausted people..

After we get that done, I expect the canker folks will remove all my citrus since the storms have spread it. My citrus trees are fine, but that means nothing if it is found in the neighborhood.

Colorado, Utah, Montana sound like heaven to me. With home prices so high now, we just might be able to flee this hellhole soon...

Anyone want to buy a nice 3/2 on acreage in "sunny" S. Florida? Over 100 fruit trees on property and a lovely lawn.
Quiet dirt road (except for the Harley rider next door and their Rap-loving son who has road rage).

Oh, and the squirels eat all the fruit...
