I ended upoi giving quite a bit if plants away but kepted my best and gifted plant which will do just fine without lights this year.

I'm sorry I couldn't get to everyone and I still owe a few great people here a thing or two)

My mother has been in and out of hospitals and dad not so good..I have been very tired but I think things are getting better. I finally had a chance to bring my plants inside yesterday...Thought I would share a few and more later. Thanks for all of your concerns and kindness)

A few years ago I had to give all of my plants away, because of cancer treatment(not mine). It was a crap fest for about a year. Things SLOWLY improved and I now have a better plant collection than I did before . I don't know your situation, but I know that things do get better.
If there ever comes a time when you can have more plants, I have a seed surplus..A few barrel cactus and hedgehog cactus, and a few prickly pear.

Christine- I never tried or heard of Mystic Spires but I love the Indigo Spires because it will start blooming soon and then never, ever stops until frost. If you look at the rose picture that you mentioned you will see one of my terraced walls and the roses are on top. That means there is a little garden section there in back of the azeales (and actually higher than the azeala roots) that is level and that I plant them in. Then it sort of flops forward. It does grow quite large maybe the same as yours although the stems aren't as thick. I like it because of the deep blue coloring and non stop blooming. Plus I have a sprawly small flowered pink rose along in there that is almost ready to bloom (the Fairy). Once it starts it just keeps on going and the pink and blue look fabulous together.

In the NO ID Group shot, the only clue I have to the ID of the pinkish UFO type is that its an old Wild's daylily that I brought here from my previous house. Means I had to have had it for 25 years. Edward- You can see why there was the immediate waiting list for HTTT. If it acts anything like STUMBLING STONE, the edge will get more promounced as it settles in. kay- I like my NO IDs and would not part with them. Before I got the daylily crazies and got on this forum, I saw no reason to keep tags so lots of NO IDs.

Awesome pics! Love those cactus blooms. Still patiently waiting for my eastern prickly pear to bloom. It grows really well every spring and is in a TON of hot and bright sun but it hasn't bloomed since June 2010. Not sure if it will bloom this year either since there should be signs of buds by now. That Calla "hercules" is really impressive! I've always wanted to try one, do you think they are worth growing? The red hot pokers look beautiful too. That clump is getting big now. Love the sequoia too. I've seen a few here, but people chop off the limbs in really weird ways to keep them from touching their homes and it takes the beauty away from the tree. Looks like yours has plenty of free space to grow all it wants! Thanks for sharing!

Your roses are magnificent! I have never had the amount of blooms on my roses that you have on yours. Enchanted Evening is wonderful. Mine is so tiny with just a few blooms. You have a green thumb, for sure. Glad to hear you are feeling better and back to your garden. Thanks for sharing. Lesley

I'm in awe of your Maruba Nishiki, Mike....awe is an understatement, in fact. This absolutely convinces me to put mine into its own pot and hopefully be able to achieve this kind of growth and color! It looks like a yellow torch. I'm so glad you kept this one....and so glad you finally got your pictures posted! You've really kept me waiting ;-)

I hope you'll share some more of your rare beauties in the days to come.

Hej Mike,
your Maruba looks great. It is nice to see how well it has developed in the last years. You growing conditions seem to be perfect to promote a high percentage of showy, yellow leaves.
Some of my Maruba's stayed entirely green this year even when grown in full sun.
This is the plant with the best color, but as you can see no completely yellow leaves ...

So, besides light there seem to be other factors that are important for the coloring.

By the way, the "Skinny Fingers" with the yellow leaf tips that you have sent me last year (not the variegated Legolas) also lost all its yellow color under my conditions. Does it still show the yellow tips at your place?

I love how yours looks too..It is very healthy..I have had some very cold nights and in fact, cooler than usual although the sun was hot by day. That is what made a difference.
A squirrel ripped mine to parts, the skinny fingers you speak of. I am hoping to find the remians of it before the hard freeze set in((

Sharon, sorry for the delay...Thank you. I hope to trim it eventually..It is getting pretty heavy I tell ya..Once I can shut my space heaters off in the spring, I am going to propagate a few.
