shrub-like succulents?

Hi all,

I have a medium-sized rectangular-shaped yard. There are fences on one side of the yard and I currently have several Agapanthus planted along that side.

Now I want to replace Agapanthus with some succulents and am wondering what would be good. I plan to have some flower beds in that yard and want to plant a "green wall" against the fence (like shrubs), as the background of the flowers.

More specifically,

- medium tall (3-5 feet)

- easy to find from local/online nurseries (I live in San Francisco bay area)

So far, I find Yucca 'Adam's needle' or Phormium (although it is not a succulent) may work, but I am wondering if there are better alternatives.

Thanks!
