Apologizing profusely for being late in thanking the following for such pretty cards and seeds - Debby_1 - an old-timey Christmas tree with old-timey ornaments within white cameo on green - generous pack of pink impatiens and Pennisetum 'Purple Majesty', even though the envelope was only hanging together by 2 corners - looking forward to finch conniptions so much near a big pot of pink impatiens. NikkiNeel & Sarah Kate sent a cute home-made card with a snowman and Dwarf Blue Curled Kale seeds, so I can give next winter's snowman a green, ruffled hairdo heehee. He'll have red eyes from overdoing eggnog from seeds saved (hopefully) from Sunflower 'Prado Red' and eyebrows from seed saved from Sunflower 'Autumn Beauty'. Clitoria Double White (love white flowers so much) might lend a winter viney necklace from which to hang icicles. KatKni - On an embossed, cut-out card, Santa is walking down a snowy slope, with a red-capped songbird perched on a snow-laden evergreen, conversing with a toy clown and horse in a brown sack on Santa's back. The murky, dark purple of the hyacinth-bean vine, together with white lace flowers of Cilantro, will wonderfully complement the orange of Calendula and earlier brilliance of moss roses in my garden next summer. poisondartfrog - A 19th-century homestead opened up into an awesome treasure trove of seeds. I don't know what it is about color shadows on flower petals, but they fascinate me. Papaver somniferum "Giant Double Cream", "Impatiens scabrida, Helianthus 'Italian Green Heart', Mirabilis 'Lemon Swirl" & Tagetes 'Alumia Vanilla Cream' all involve blushes, specklings and swirls of palest yellow shadowing white petals that hopefully will delicately spread blazing deepest gold from Callistephus 'Princess Hilda' to a pale yellow gold dahlia. Agastache mexicana 'Champagne'' will catch a few glitters and Nasturtium 'Alaska Raspberry' will thread its way up through them with darker tones. There will be sky-blue in the vicinity from Blue Woodruff, Nemesia 'Aegian Sea', Viola 'Miniola Heart Aqua' and Platycodon 'Axminster Streak.'. Portulaca 'Happy Trails' will strew its gem-colors at their feet, and Datura 'Purple People Eater' will hulk over the entire ensemble making sure everyone minds their p's & q's. Earlier in the season, Digitalis purpurea 'Dalmatian; will lurk in tree shadows, and over a sunny, dry wall, pink Lavandula angustifolia 'Pink Elegance' will waft its scent down to passers-by. Well, obviously I'm not speechless, but I can't thank everyone enough for all the amazing, thoughtful cards and seeds they sent to me. I loved participating in this swap and hope to do it again next Christmas. ps - I sent 4 additional cards along with the others on 12/21 and hope they made it to where they were going.

Me too! I got 7 cards today. My first day I received them. Jodie(Jodie74) sent me plenty of zinnia and gaillardia seeds Lisa(pumpkingal) sent me zinnia orange, gaillardia, black eyed susans and daisy (what a nice selection) Angelu(yotetrapper) sent me moon & stars watermelon and jarrahdale pumpkin (I have to look these up - am excited for these) Iris(rane_grow) - fanfare blanket flower Lynn(fearadun) - gaillardia (red/yellow), mutant marigold, calendula (unique card) Ellie(farmergirl) - canna , zinnia and gaillardia Katie(redthreaddiy) - canna, balloon flower and gaillardia (I will check out your website soon - I like that you put what type it is in your own seed packet like half - hardy - I think I messed up some seeds before due to that) I'm excited to start wintersowing. Hi all, I'm behind again. I've got 2 days worth of cards to list. From foreverrecyclereuse I received round cantaulope,Broccoli and Grand Rapids lettuce. jas.il sent poppies, chives and Buttercrunch lettuce. Panhandle_seed_swap sent a huge package of foxgloves, I would love to plant each one of them. Tularosa Market melon. Dirt Daddy sent a mother lode. There's moneymaker tomato, White lisbon onion, marigold mix, lettuce mix, Super beefsteak tomato, evergreen long white bunching onion, gourmet blend lettuce, bibb lettuce, Aunt Gertie's gold tomato, German Johnson tomato, Abe Lincoln tomato, and Rutgers tomato. Nikkineel sent a wonderful card with a snowman. I received Castor beans, echinacea cheyenne spirit, Cannibals tomato and zinnia swirls. jhgarden9 sent marigolds, Korean melon, and cucumbers. smitties sent sea holly and sombrero echinacia. and last but not least, roper 2008 sent red barn tomato, pink poppy and red and yellow speckled marigold. I am so excited! I received 3 cards today! HECK YEAH! I spent another full day preparing my cards and seeds for others and am still going! :) Thank you to debby_1 for the cute santa cat card and the seeds! I got Oat Grass (never have tried that before! looking forward to sowing them!), red canna (I am starting a bulb farm this spring, so I am very excited to have new varieties!), and California Wonder Pepper (so happy you send these because I didn't get seeds from the ones I grew last year.) Thanks so much! I'm planting everything you sent this spring - love it all! Xiangirl sent an amazing handmade card loaded with seeds! She sent gaillardia Punchella (I only have one variety of blanket flower so I am super excited to try this new one!), Reed Grass (a grass I haven't tried or have heard of, and am very excited about!), Goldenrod (have never grown them but I've been wanting to try this!), Autumn Joy Sedum (I don't have this sedum yet! It looks gorgeous!), Milkweed (I LOVE this!) and Butterfly Weed (I have never grown this before but it looks gorgeous!). Thank you SO MUCH Heidi! You sent varieties that I didn't have but wanted to try and I am super excited to plant them all this spring! Last but certainly not least, I received a cute snowman/winter scene card from Ruby_dog! She included Ruby Star Echinacea (I only have purple and white, so I am EXTREMELY excited about this one!), Scabiosa 'Summer Berries Mix' (I LOVE LOVE LOVE these flowers. Can't wait to see what colors I get from the mix!), Jalapeno M Peppers (I love jalapenos - I pickle them, dry them, use them in endless recipes!), Watermelon 'Blacktail Mountain (have never grown these or have heard of them - extremely excited!), Butternut Squash 'Waltham' (I have so many uses for these as well!), and Okra 'Bowling Red' (I didn't even realize there was more than 2 varieties of okra. I received my 'Secret Santa' package! :) Also shipped my
Secret Santa' package out to my recipient today! Yayyyyy! So - watch your mail!! lol! (and unwrap it very carefully!!)

Had to travel to Little Rock yesterday (96 miles, one way) to find the right gift - but well worth the trip! Wish I could have gotten it locally, but we're a very SMALL town! :)

Hope my 'Secret Santa' recipient enjoys it when it does arrive! A few other goodies were added also! Hope it makes it to it's destination without any problems!

I understand that "things" in life come up, but I want to be sure that everyone who "gave" also "received".

Sorry for my absence here Caren. I haven't been on GW for a couple of days. I haven't received my SS package yet, I did send mine out though and April recieved it already. To tell you the truth, I thought it was more exciting putting a SS box of goodies together to send out! haha

Caren~ I sent mine out on Thursday morning of this past week. I have not recevied mine yet :0( Sorry all my GW Buddies as life has really kept me busy this year and I have not been able to post much:0( I miss each of you very much and carry you all near my heart.Please forgive me for not drooping by much.Now I am off to finish up some more shopping as you all know Santa's job is never done.

I got my SS box!!! I was thrilled when I opened it up! Not to mention the size of the box! Inside were many seed packets including many double Daturas, lions tail seeds, scarlet runner beans, red hibiscus and many more! Also, a ton of HUGE Brug cuttings! And... get this... an Agave Stricta (? or maybe striata. Also looks vaguely like a Dasylirion??). Whatever it is, I like it! Wow, what a wonderful plant! I will be planting it in the garden today. I will definately be sharing pictures later on! Secret Santa, You Rock!!

Glad it arrived!! Yayyyy! :) I'm sorry it took so long for it to arrive, as we don't have many Agave's in this area! :) I saw that one & had to get it for you!

Just wondering if, when I boxed it up, if the Agave was in the box the right way! Somewhat got confused when I boxed it up & I think I may have sent it upside-down! If I did - sorry! As long as it arrived ok - that's what counts! :)

I know it's a 'pointy' thing! I can't tell you how many times I was stabbed! lol!

Just glad it arrived safely! (hope so!) And I hope you're happy with it, and I also hope you didn't/don't have one like it! :)

Mike, The agave was a bit rattled up but not damaged. I think I poked myself a couple of times when I was pulling it out! lol. Would you believe me when I told you that this one is one of the more user friendly agaves? haha

Been out of town "helping" friends celebrate a birthday since yesterday.

Susan, what a great SS gift box from Bri! I know you will enjoy rooting the brug cuttings (names?) and using up all those other goodies.

Josh, I know you are on cloud 9 with all the great stuff Mike sent, including that agave!

Caren, my remark is the same as I posted above on Dec. 14. Thanks so much for handling the SS this year! You did a fantastic job :-)

Hey it's me again. I rec. my SS package yesterday.
Mail was running late.
My Secret Santa was Rigo. Thank you for the wonderful cutting and card.
I recieved star Fish Cactus plant, Night Blooming Ceres, Air Potato Vine Bulbs, Star fish plant with smaller flowers and Red Bird Plant.
Also some seeds Red Mini Bell Pepper, Calendula Officinalis, Mexican Fire Plant, Belly Ache Bush, Datura Lilas De Fllur, Purple Bean Vine,?vine?, Bird House gourd, White Moon Flower and ?X? Hyb.Fred Sommer Brug seeds

Thank you very much for everything!

Yeah Dorothy, sounds like you got a wonderful variety of plants/seeds! I love Calendula, but still haven't planted any. I would want them to be untreated so I could put them in my salad :-) Looking forward to the pictures.

I have been out with health problems. I could only do email. I was unable to do GW it would only send me an error message.

Eloise, I am your secret santa. Since I was sick I had my daughter order your brug it sounded special. They said it was a new German double brug. I hope you will enjoy it. I also sent a priority box Friday you should receive soon.

Caren, I have not received a package. But I had fun thank you for organizing the trade it is not an easy job,

Audrey, I am so very sorry to hear about your health problems. Caren, did mention it, but didn't say who or what. Hope you are feeling better each day. I did receive b. Honeymoon, and it is a beauty on the pictures I saw. JT did email me to tell me how to care for it so I hope I do right by it. Thanks so much for this SS beauty and I will post pictures soon.

Audrey, I'm sorry to hear you've not been well. I hope you get back on your feet soon!

I was your Secret Santa, and I do apologize for the delay in getting your package out. I swear, I blinked, and we jumped from Thanksgiving to Christmas in an instant!

I sent out your package via FedEx in hopes it would avoid sitting around in cold weather for too long. Apparently it was delivered around noon today, so I hope you received it safe and sound.

Got the second part of my SS gift from Audrey today. First, Audrey I hope you are feeling better each day.

Thank you so much for such a generous gift! Audrey sent a beautiful, wrapped box with a lovely card. Inside, 2 paint pens, a Copper Garden Marker engraving kit, musical ornament that plays 70's music (What's Going On, American Pie, Stayin Alive, Old Time Rock and Roll, We Are Family -- anybody want to dance with me, lol!), and of course, the brugmansia 'Honeymoon' from Country Garden that I received on 12/11 but didn't know who my SS person was at that time. I will definitely use the paint pens and the plant markers, and tomorrow, I am taking the musical ornament to my daughter's. I know my grandkids are going to enjoy it as we all clown around by dancing to the music! Thanks again Audrey, and be well.

Guess what Caren and everyone.....I had a SS too and did not even participate. I betcha you all know who it was?!!!

A person who always jumps in and makes sure no one will feel left out. Or he just wants to bring some joy to you.

Ryan, I received the box and it was so heavy I had to call my daughter to lift it. LOL The cactus Planter was enough, but you went further with the gift of picking out 3 brugs of my choice. I will be gentle. LOL

Everyone thank you for the kind thoughts and get well wishes. I had back surgery and they know how to give you good drugs so if I am hurting I don;t care or I don't know how bad I am hurting until it is time for another pain pill. LOL

Audrey, sounds like you got a great SS gift from Ryan! Looking forward to the pictures, and also please list which brugs you got! On another note, so sorry you had back surgery, and please do take it easy. I've heard that if you don't take care, the surgery and all that pain would have been for nothing.

Lucy, me too! Eddie said he was my 2nd SS! Thanks again Eddie, and I will never forget your generosity.

Glad it arrived safely, Audrey! And pick out some good Brugs from Eddie! Just be sure to post pics of them when they bloom.

And yes, definitely take care of that back! No exerting yourself till you are fully healed or you'll be right back where you started.
