As a follow up in case there are any other people out there whos Aloe suffered the same fate as mine, heres what happened next. I forgot about the plant (whoops), and it sat with only 3 roots hanging off it, the whole of one side of the root end, dry, powdery, and rotten (Incidentaly, It hadnt been watered for a while which may explain why it wasnt soggy rotten!) in the garden shed in the coldest part of the year, for 3 weeks, going more and more limp. I took a bread knife, as any other knife just didnt have the mettle to cut through the stem, and cut through it, as smoothly as I could past the rotten areas. It was then lavishly dipped in rooting hormone powder, and repotted. After it was watered and brought indoors, it took about a week or so for the leaves to start to plump up again. Its now looking in a 'normal' state, and seems to be quite happy. The end. :)

Loolie, Well you've received a few responses already but hey one more wont hurt especially if you end up going with the majority. I too was a little concerned with rooting my Plics which I received my first one from a cutting & I wondered if it would take root. Well what I did was just let it sit for a couple of days and then placed it in well draining soil and the rest was easy, it was all patience after that. Well my experience is that they are S L O W growers at least in my care and they did root, and I think maybe 3 Or 4 years later Bloomed for me too. I too was wondering about watering because I tend to be used to regular plants that need water at least every other day so I have to restrain myself from watering to much. Succulents as thick as these A. Plics have water stored up in their leafs and need water even less frequent ( I'm reminding myself as I write this.) so they need less water but just how much or How little only experince and experiments can tell so good luck and stay on the dry side, as they say , it's better to err on the dry side with these plants than to give them to much water and watch them rot. :( Greg

Whitefly!!! Remove any yellow leaves. Wipe down the underside of any remaining leaves with a dish soap and water or with a insecticidal soap. Keep checking the underside of your leaves for a small white moth-looking insect. You can put worm castings in your soil which makes the leaves unpleasant to the insects. You can put up whitefly traps which are yellow sticky sheets that the adults land on and get stuck. Just keep checking the leaves and warring with the buggers. If someone around you has a hibiscus, check it out as it is probably where they are coming from. Good luck. Bill

Hi everyone! Thanks for the comments! Unfortunately yesterday my pea plant died. It got infested with spider webs with a bunch of small light brown bugs crawling on the webs. I quickly got rid of it to avoid other plants getting it. Luckily this happened when I brought the plant into my house. I guess Ill wait till September to replant being that it's too hot now and will get hotter here in South Florida. @Peter I think that might have caused it to get sick. It was about 2 ft tall and I guess I over did it with the fertilizer. The fertilizer is called Expert Gardener all purpose / water soluble Plant Food. The soil I have is store bought since I don't gave a garden, I am growing them on my balcony on the 26th fl lol. When would be the best time to give fertilizer? Before or after germination? If you planted in doors maybe you can buy those fluorescent plant lights? I know how you feel about NY lol I used to live there all my life and moved south in 2014. It's tough to grow anything out doors in NY cause the weather isn't consistent. Also I think since I was fertilizing too much may have made the pea plant mature too quickly. The pea seed packet said 3 months and started to grow pods in 1.5-2 months.
