I got this on sale at my local garden center where they put neglected plants to whither away or get snapped up by a bargain hunter with a habit like me -_-
I googled Senecio Himalaya but found more results that turned up Barbertonicus & an explanation that it was a made up nursery name and that he is African in origin not Asian. The tag says hardiness zone 9, I'm in 7a. When I first read the label, I figured I'd put him outside. To add to the confusion, he's got a sticker on his pot labelling him as a 1 qt annual.
Now I'm not all that sure that I can put him outside since I found he's actually African. Do the hardiness zones go in chronological order as in 'up to zone 9 he's hardy?' If he's hardy, I'd put him in the ground, but if he's not, well....
I'd kind of like to see him in a pot. If he has to come in for the winter, and I do put him in a pot, should I correct for his leaning posture or should this be capitalized upon somehow? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
