Some years back, a customer told me his JD 110 was groaning and hardly going up the slopes in his yard. The tractor was 10 years old at the time, or maybe older, and his lawn was a series of slopes, and banks, and he used the tractor on all of them. I informed him he need a new trans/axle (Tranny), but he had me take it to the JD Dealer, as they said i din't know what i was talking about! So, i hauled it to the shop, and they did something to it, and it worked better when i got it back to his house. For a month!! And, back to the groaning and no uphill movement. So, back to the dealer, where they replaced the tranny, trimmed him again, and i took it back to him. That time, it was ok, and still is. I saw him last fall, and he sez it is working like new again. I thought he should of bought a new tractor, but he loved his little L-110, so he had it fixed.

Thank you for the kind words, Barbara :) I would think of Hormex (liquid), KLN (liquid) and Superthrive (liquid) as interchangeable. If you have Superthrive, use that and skip the KLN. I've been using ST for a couple of months now; I use it app 1/2 teasp/gallon, and it's been great. If you have a gel to paint the roots with, and a liquid for soaking, spraying the leaves and watering, you have all you need. You can also use Superthrive for a soak-- add 2Tbsp of sugar/quart of water and soak the whole plant, leaves and all. It can take in some of the sugar & Superthrive thru the leaves, An afternoon or overnight soak will revive the plants and give them a better chance. I would skip the epsom salts for now, just concentrate on getting those roots started. Put them in the smallest pot that will fit the roots, and put baggies on the leaves. I use two baggies, one on each side of the crown. Leave the crown open for air. In about 6 weeks you can start to see either new roots, or a glow of health starting on them and remove the bags. After you pot them up, you can also spray the underside of the leaves with your Superthrive solution every couple of days, or whenever you think of it. Be sure to spray in the morning so they are totally dry by dusk. When a plant is root-challenged it can't take in much thru the roots, but can take in a little thru the stomata on the underside of the leaves. Good luck! Yes, I have actually gone Rattle Snake hunting with Dan and Mike, We didn't get any, but they say it tastes like chicken. ROFL!! And havent tried Buffalo Balls.. LOL! The leafed plant is a weed. :) LOL! And no, I don't feed it to the lizard. He only eats bugs!! Mainly ants. He's sitting in front of part of my Aviary. Thanks all so very much. I'm jamming for leaving at 5AM Weds. to drive to the land. I understand what seems to be at least 2 votes for keeping fridge in "niche" at periphery and single wall oven & microwave in corner; and the rationale for doing so even with its greater distance to cooktop. Tons of votes for more windows - will think about that. The cooktop wall faces North and in Oregon mountains paying some attention to energy efficiency is warranted; views are wonderful, but not the knock out view to the west. You might see original post of overview of 1st floor. While K, might not have many windows itself, it is open to windows in an arc of perhaps 280 degrees through DR, LR, and Entry. This is NOT a substitute for windows that are within arms reach, so might keep the one in the corner and simply add one to where I was mentioning. The image below is from the LR looking toward K. None of the furniture is right, none of the colors are other than the defaults in the software. Windows in DR, and proposed for K are about right. From where this camera view is taken in LR the window wall to the left will have a 9' picture window, plus a smaller one and these will be borrowed views from K (prep sink in particular when looking at a diagonal). The mountain shown in the image is NOT at all accurate and any mountain view to the N thru DR will show Mount Jefferson as quite small and over 39 miles away. For views to west the mountains are only 18 miles. Thanks for all of the continued help and interest. I will provide prelim elevations after I get back from trip and look forward to adding windows. My designer/architect loves windows, but even he showed restraint so while I won't skimp in K, it might be fine with one or at most two - will see.
