I think this has been a great and fun trading season. It was for me anyways. I thought it would be fun to update your have lists and of course your wants to see what all the new brugs you got are. I am going to mark my new cuttings that I got through trades with a * so any newbies can see how much you can benefit from trading and sending postage. Now I can't wait until summer to see them all bloom and see everyone elses' pics!

YOU FOUND EARTH ANGEL!!! OMG. I can't believe it. That is so awesome and I'm so happy for you. I'll have to get my head together and come up wth my have and want list. I'm always afraid to post my haves because I'm scared I'll lose my dorment ones or cuttings and I'll jinx my 'haves'. Silly, huh?

I saw on your wish list you want Orange Infusion so I guess the cutting I sent didnt make it. I'm not surprised. I lost ALOT of those cuttngs. They just mushed like crazy. I have a feeling that may be one that needs to be cut and rooted while actvely growng in the summer. Brenda and I were just discussng ths today. Or maybe it would be a good candidate for the moss method. Anyway, If and when I get my hands on another of those, I'll send it your way. I have the trunk in water in my basement so if it makes it thru the winter, I'll definately send you another cutting when it starts growing good.

Suzie I am hoping EA makes it through the winter and grows nice and big because I know a lot of people who have it on their wants, and I want to help them out with that one. Yes, maybe we can trade some other time for the Orange Infusion, thanks. It must be prone to mushing becuase when I was taking it out of the papertowels the skin slipped off. I tried to save it but I lost it. I can't complain though, out of all the cuttings I got I only lost 4 so far. All of the other cuttings you sent me are doing really well, I really need to get them into soil though. I have the pots sterilized, now its just a matter of potting them up, maybe tomorrow. You may want to take a back up cutting or two of OI for yourself if it seemed like a musher to you.

I remember one I left off of my have list too:
Ludger's Summer Dream
and I still feel like there are some I am forgetting.
And need I mention the seedlings I have started plus the other seeds I plan to start. Hmmm... where will I put everything, LOL.

Ok folks, sorry I haven't posted an update on this swap yet BUT I have been so busy. I have been playing with seeds and dirt and blah, blah, blah and dreaming of masses of fields of green (veggies) and masses of blooms come this summer. I received one of my big swaps back yesterday and I am about to post my updated wanted list. I truly hope we have more people to participate but it isn't looking too good for this swap. Hi, folks! My opinion on a typical pack of seeds would be 20-25, and fewer for large, rare or expensive seeds. Many times tomato, pepper, and eggplant seeds are more like 12-15 seeds. Counting out poppy or foxglove seeds is a pain, but a tiny pinch is about 40-50, so I do that. Some people measure out 1/8 teaspoons or 1/4 teaspoons of tiny seeds. I don't have a 1/8t spoon, and 1/4t is a large proportion of my seeds. If you're agonizing over whether or not to send in just a few of a seed, you can always ask the recipient, or you can use the gardenweb list search. Search for people who also have that seed, and read the list for people in this swap. If a couple of us have it, you don't need to worry about dividing up your small supply. You find the Search Lists function by clicking at the bottom of the page on Member Pages, and then choose Search Members' Exchange Lists. That is also a way to figure out who to send to, by searching for people looking for a seed you have. However, sometimes someone will type "No datura, please" but the computer just sees that "datura" is in the wants area. So this search can get you started, but you should still personally check. :) GARLIC: I'd love to try some different hardnecks! Cloves or even bulbils. Cloves are big--should we plan to send somewhat roomy envelopes and extra postage money to pay for getting the cloves to us? I grow two hardneck types and can offer bulbils, unfortunately I don't know the names. On seems to be a porcelain, one a rocambole. (One has a ton of tiny bulbils, one has larger bulbils, so please correct me if you think I'm wrong). You plant the bulbils at the same time as big garlic, and then dig it up the next year when it yellows the right amount. Then you replant it in fall, unless you want to eat the baby garlic. In my reading, it seems pretty definite that if you leave garlic in the ground without digging and replanting, it just splits into smaller bulbs and is less and less what you intended when you planted it. That happened to my mom. Dorisl, it's nice to see you here! I'll try to find good pink stuff to send your way. :)

Hi, everyone! Mmmm, apple cider doghnuts. I've only had those once, and we ate the whole bag within 15 minutes of leaving the orchard. They're scrumptious! Ollierose, I try to know the botanical names for the plants I grow, (or at least list them with it) so I only look up botanical names that seem really familiar, because those may be seeds I can send in and I'm just not making the right mental connection. If I don't recognize it at all, it's not something I can send in. If you want to look things up, the fastest way I've found is 1. have the google toolbar 2. type the Latin and the word plantfiles 3. read all about it. That's also my first step in deciding if I want a plant, but I always look them up on a few sites, because they all have inaccuracies sometimes. I like to increase my chances for trades by making it easy for the trader to know that I have what they want, or they have what I want, by using both common names and latin. Except I'm sure I've neglected to do that completely :) It's another cold, grey day, and I have so much garden cleanup to do, still perennials to get in the ground, plus a couple hundred bulbs--but all I want to do is sit in front of the woodstove with my tiny kitten!

Yes Kylie I know at least one that you want and that offer I made you long ago still stands..... YOU get the frist cutting I can take of it, keep your fingers crossed that nothing bad happens to it over the winter. And trust me, I still have a want list becausse I probably added 2 new wants for every one I took off,LOL, it is on my member page. Where is YOUR want list, you deserve to get some brugs instead of just giving them and having your fun contests.

I am going to wait a little longer until I am sure which cuttings made it. Today is not a good day anyways. Because of freezing temps for the next 2 nights I decided to at least cut all the leaves off. Now they are naked...with buds and blossoms. I am good to go anyways until spring. When I hopefully see that there is no SB on any other brugs and I can SHARE my lil treasures with ya all.
