WOW Ken, your Tsuga canadensis 'New Gold' looks very pretty with all that beautiful new golden growth. That sure is a big tree that looks like it would take up a whole lot of room. LOL.

I'm with Dax - I thought you were too young to have so many big specimens. ;^)

What's was the size at planting and what is the size now? I was trying to find one of these and noted a size around 5' x 3' in 10 years, but this looks clearly larger.

it was one of my first ... in 2001 ... from tom schmid in jackson mi ....

i think it was about 3 to 4 feet ...

it grows like a weed ... rick your size description is way off ...

or its not NG??? how the heck do i know ...

It's probably 'New Gold'... I get most of my size listings from buchholz. I find that normally they have correct information listed. However, I don't think this is one of those times... it looks like this plant can grow to somewhere around 12' x 6' in 10 years.

How is it that a plant this big in 10 years looks to put 1" of new growth on.

Does if put out multiple flushes or does that leaflet continue to push out?

Tsugas put out multiple flushes per year. Two, sometimes even three.

That looks like the 'New Gold' I've seen.
