according to the USDA quarantine map found below California is the best bet. Good new for Four Winds Growers

There are miles and miles of refrigeration lines running along roofs all over the world and more coming all the time. The lines should be raised off the roof several inches. Short lengths of pressure treated 4x4 works great for that, and secure the lines to the lumber.

It is a crap shoot at best. Sears has posted dismal financial performance for a long time now and many locations, including Kmart, are suffering from bare shelves and the usual lack of help. Sooner or later, Eddie Lampert is going to have to do some serious fire selling to keep the wolves at bay. Already he's dumping lands end and I could very easily see white goods get the axe next. Auto centers? Hard to say but I could see those getting "outsourced" to a 3rd party managing company paying Sears rent for the locations and the Sears name. Fact is, the investments necessary to keep the two tottering drunks on a straight line have not been forthcoming. Lampert is a fund manager, an finance guy, looking to generate returns to investors rather than value to customers. Could you get a Kenmore fixed if Sears called it quits? Absolutely as Kenmore has always been made by "someone else". Would it be as easy as now? I doubt it. Ch 11 would put your broken washer way at the bottom of the list of creditors looking to get their 10 cents on the dollar so you could be out of luck. But why waste time and perhaps money on a doubtful future and instead go with a proven Speed Queen top loader OR front loader? The company is in good shape, in fact, it is expanding to meet demand for small chassis (residential) production. "No Codes, no inspection, no building science, no engineering doesn't add up to quality in my book." That depends on how old and where the house is located. Some places have had codes for well over 100 years. The poorly built ones are rarely standing after a long time. More important is thing like updated electrical and plumbing. Old plumbing is often still in pretty good shape, but electrical has changed a lot in the last 80 years. A 1915 house may have one receptacle per wall in each room, no matter what the room size, and be wired with knob & tube wiring (and not even have boxes at outlets). While you may find a lead water supply line that should be replaced, lead drain/waste/vent lines are often still working as well as the day they were installed. Drum traps have not been allowed for many years, but they still work (especially for gray water lines). Older houses have things like rough cut joists that are a full 2 inches thick, making them 33% stronger than the same height 1.5 inch joist. Studs are a full 2x4 inches, not 1.5 x 3.5 inches. Since the 16 inch spacing has been around a long time, this insignificantly increases the wall stiffness. Instead of plywood sub-floors where half the layer are not really doing much, you get full one inch thick diagonal planks. Joist are sometimes over spanned, but it is not as hard a problem to fix as it often appears. Those 100 years old houses still standing are liable to out last the new ones being built now.

I don't know either. I never had to send my little Oly in for repairs, and I do have a Mack warranty somewhere for that, but didn't know I might not get the repair facility I'd have preferred at the time I purchased that. I did have to send one lens in already for repair to Canon Irvine CA. They have repair facilities in both CA and NJ. I would not like to have to have my cameras/lenses/etc repaired by anyone else, in or out of warranty. My turnaround time with Canon was excellent, and I may have to send one other lens in for calibration, have to test it out more first. Too cold. Brrrrrrr. I'd advise people to really do their homework before purchasing a Mack warranty. How do you know whom to believe? Some companies I trust, and some I just plain don't know and shy away from.

Just bought my 3rd tree from Four Winds Growers in California. They do a nice job...you can check out their website and I encourage you to Google for consumer feedback ratings for this and there are certainly other growers to consider as well. I found them on my own, not through this forum. Not sure what you meant by "safe" you mean is their website secure and the product is good? I'm happy so far, you also have the option of ordering by phone if you choose to use them. Regards

fleaseyelash. Whats killing us is the good old boys. A friend of a friend of a friend that ship's tree's ups and USPS to other states feeling they don't have a problem, wanting to make a few bucks.

I recall a number of years ago receiving a package in the mail containing at least 8 different citrus and another day or 2 later another package containing 8-9 citrus seedlings.

Are my citrus clean? Beats me! But than again dont trade or sell..

I've been buying plants from Logees for many years and have always been happy with them. However, Florida does not allow any citrus plants to be shipped into the state so I am not able to buy their beautiful citrus plants. I'm jealous of all of you!

The SE has greening disease and citrus from there may be infected if you buy from individuals. If the seller is licensed and inspected, they will know what they can ship and where they can ship it to.

nancyanne 2010.. I hardly feel that any so called allocated licensed inspector is going inspect each tree that ship's out of any nursery at this time
The so called licensed inspectors may view ten tree's out of a thousand.

If licensed inspectors is the key for buying go for it.

I'm going for some coffee and donuts.
