Okey, It's official!!!!!!

Brenda's Beauty is a shoo-in!!! I really like many of the other names but that is why I asked for your help to decide!!!

I originally named this one for Brenda Delph, in acknowledgement for her accomplishment of producing a beautiful double from two single parents. I have recently heard from her and there are several more that were grown this year. Yay to Brenda and other hybridizers for giviing us such lovely brugmansia to grace our gardens and thrill our souls.

Okey, enough of the mushy stuff!!

Oh my Goodness. I just screamed and scared my fiance. Lol He didnt know what I was screaming about. I do Love the name. I have to go and pinch myself. A huge Thank you to you and A big hug. I still cant believe it. Whoo hoo I have a brendas stinky pinky. LOL Oh I am so excited. Hugs Brenda Yippee yahoo. I gotta go and make a special spot for her.....Barb

Sweet!! Thank you Brenda! Sounds like there were quite a few WINNERS! 'Brenda's Beauty!!' May it grace every Brug garden in the USA! You should be so proud! And thank you again for allowing us to help you name your new bruggie! It was alot of fun! I think everyone had some great names - but 'Brenda's Beauty' will always be, well, a reflection of you!! :)) And I'm glad your hard work has finally paid off for you! A named & registered brug of your own! Who could ask for anything better than that?? Yippeeee!

Thanks you guys! I love the hummies too! I have 5 feeders up and some I have to refill daily. The rufouses showed up last week. So it's gonna be hummie heaven til fall now! Lily, I will take some full shots of the pergola today. Only problem is it's still quite a mess right now. I have weeds out the ying-yang and there's drip hose piled in the middle awaiting the new beds nearby getting finished up. My whole yard is a major mess. It's s total work in progress. With all the rain and cold temps, I haven't been able to get much of anything done. It's clear today, but we're expecting the rain to start back up tonight I believe and supposed to last most of next week. Auuugggghhhh!!! I'm so sick of it!!!

Yes Jasmine MM is a mini rose. Some people on the Forum believe that it's actually ABRACADABRA. But even tho ABRACADABRA is a small rose, I don't believe they are the same. My Japanese maples don't usually put out this much color. It's been a really different kind of fall here this yr. Much more colorful than most other yrs that I can remember. And they started turning color later in the season too. My neighbor's big pistachio tree just last week started to turn yellow. It's several weeks later than normal. And my young pistachio tree never got really colorful until this yr. I'm really enjoying the colors all around town.

Thanks for the nice comments...:-) This is a nice 'neighbourly' neighbourhood with a fair number of gardeners - and lots of 'dog people' too, so there's a lot of casual contact/chatting with neighbours when passing by. I've long since lost any concern about looking good when out in the garden :-) I'm one of the neighbourhood eccentrics I think :-) There are other neighbours out there in various states of garden apparel so nobody minds very much! So I encourage you to embrace the social aspect of front yard gardening :-) Some pictures: This one is old now - before we got Cole, we had a Lhasa Apso - who was a good garden companion. This picture is in the front by the 'moat bed' along the ditch in spring, chatting to dog-walkers passing by: (sadly, all these dogs are now dead....) Essential gardening equipment: Me in the (private space) backyard last spring: So - to heck with concern about appearance! - embrace the social side of front yard gardening - it's all good for the neighbourhood! [ Comment from a neighbour via e-mail re the hibiscuses (she had just been washing the windows at their house....)... 'Your hibiscus is absolutely stunning. Thank you for its beauty to all who look when they pass by and me from my now clean window.' ]

Nice end to your bloom season. No daylily rebloom here.Lots of other perennial blooms going still which still gives color to the garden. We too will experience cooler temps but only to the low 70's. Great garden weather. Julia

woohoo!! thank you Brenda! ANd COngrats on the beauty! I was hoping Brenda's Beauty would be the final decision. It is def the way to go! I too thank you for letting us join in on this, and you are so kind to be sharing so many cuttings.
I agree, BB should grace everyone's gardens...and yeah she'll be in mine!! :)

I had a cat nick-named BB once...his name was Black Balls, for obvious reasons. lol. Was the only part of him that was black.
