Hardy Citrus Results/Experience?

I know variations of this question come up periodically(Yes, I searched). However I'm looking for some updates, since most answers were from people who bought these plants back in 2007 or earlier.

Are there members who have sour citrus such as Nippon orangequat, Taichang or Ichang lemon, or Thomasville Citrangequats that are now bearing? I would really love especially hearing from those in Zones 8 or lower, since I assume anyone in 9 or up can grow more popular types.

I'm hoping for an in ground lime/lemon substitute in Atlanta, GA. Have these fruited reliably for you? Do they taste lemonish or are they just sour/bitter? Do you use them for cooking, juice, or are they not fit for anything but some nice fragrance?

I imagine they all would have to be picked/used by December, so at what point in the year are you able to start using them? Any answers would really be greatly appreciated. Thank You!
