Rotating will help, also makes plant to grow more evenly since all sides will receive approximately same sunlight.This one, grown from a cutting, is receiving lots of sun - right now from about 11:00am until sundown. It has been in same spot since beg. of June, acclimatized to it and was getting more sun during July & August...days are getting shorter. I am wondering about the roots; you mentioned they were limp. Was plant over- or under-watered before re-potting? Rina

i never succeeded with clay pots... except with cactii ....as far as i am concerned.. in my experience.. they are a greenhouse tool .... and i agree its a water management issue.. and i blame the pot ... i see a very strong piece back there... i would take a new sharp razor blade ... and cut off the ugly parts.... and i would probably do it.. while i was repotting it into a new plastic pot ... with fresh dampened media .. i would choose a plastic pot.. that fit into the clay pot... if the clay pot was precious to me ... once all that was done.. and it was watered in ... i would not water it again .. until the top inch dries .. insert finger ... though i say the pot is the problem... you are.. after all.. in charge of the watering can ... i think part of the root issue... is that water management.. is feast or famine ... its either too wet ... or too dry ... you need to find some middle ground ... there is a houseplant forum ... if you wish to learn more ... ken

Not sure exactly what it is, bumps and/or spots are often oedema/edema. I actually water mine more often, but it all depends on soil: if water retaining, it will take much longer to dry up. I keep them in very gritty mix that drains very well and fast. Oedema is a disorder and I result of plant taking in much more water than it can transpire. Leaves will not 'revert'/clean up. You just have to wait for them to grow old and eventually fall off. But I am not absolutely sure if that is the condition of your plant. Depending on how whole plant looks (too big - not as full as you would like, too many 'naked' woody stems, or similar), I may consider total rejuvenation. I did that with my original plant when it reached over 2', and was not as compact. It grew very nice, green leaves, but I wanted smaller plant and more compact. Your plant looks ok otherwise (from what I can see in photos), but it could be more compact - if it gets more light. This is one of the stem cuttings from original plant - you can see it is quite compact. I keep them outdoors, so they get quite a bit of sunlight:

Can you wipe it off? If so, do it. Unless, of course, you're more inters-ted in what it is and what it is doing. In that case, keep an eye out for changes, then post more images.
