looking for clivia seed and few ?

Hi all, I'm looking for clivia seed other than normal/regular orange one. anyone have any to trade/sell?

while looking for seed on ebay i noticed that most all seed sellers are from china,austalia,s.africa,ect. are there any laws prohibiting sales to the usa? some sellers show sales to the USA,while others wont sell to USA. just curious as to why? i'm wanting to buy some seed,but don't want to break any laws. just like growing from seeds and seeing what pops up(4-5 years from now)lol

You can purchase from the Chinese sellers without worry, they follow the rules. I have acted as a re-shipper for a couple of them, and everything was inspected and arrived with phyto permits. Everything was sent to me , I repackaged it, and sent it on to the other buyers. The key is to ask first if they can handle the permits.

Hi Jim,

There are several good sellers from the USA of Clivia seed on ebay. Our seed harvest starts in Dec. and continues into about March. There will be some wonderful crosses available this year without worrying about importation issues. You just have to wait another month or two. Many yellows, reds and oranges available for less than $1 per seed. If you haven't grown from seed before, these are good practice items. Once comfortable with the technique, then you might want to venture to the $5-20 seeds available.

I'm not sure what "WPA" means, but my guess is western PA. There are several Clivia growers/enthusiasts in PA. I think they are closer to Philly, though.

I have one clivia seed at the moment, will have more after next bloom. they are Big seeds and take over 6 months to germinate. Also have seedlings a few years old.

greetings.. you asked a good question Lucy.. I have microwave/convection oven at the end of my counter and it faces the window.. a good amount of light comes in thru there.. also, in the afternoon and on into the late afternoon, my bedroom window gets direct sunlight. So, between the 2 different directions of sunlight.. my plants would get a good 6 and more hours of sunlight.. I hope.. It's worth a try anyways.. And Penny.. thank you for your offer of seeds.. I love basil, and oregano and dill.. and also, I'm going to search Richter's, as suggested.. thank you.. Love, Light and Peace celtie

Peppernovice!!!! *Internet Hug*. Good to see you!! I hope you haven't seen my wish list....!!! Lol!!! Oh well, you can always dream! I wasn't able to have a growing season like I wished for last year. Mom got really bad and I dedicated myself to taking care of her. She passed late spring so when I did try to plant I knew it was going to be a really weird season and soooooooo late. So I am looking for some more container friendly plants and such for 2014 and hoping I can really get a good year this year
