Help Identify - Agave???

I need help identifying the name of this plant. The photos are from 7/30/08 taken in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles.

I did manage to get some black seeds off of the stalk in Pictures 3 & 4. It is hard to tell, but the trunk of the plant before

the stalk (pic 3 & 4) is about 5-6 feet long laying on the ground. The trunk is the same as the ones on the nearby plants (pics 1 & 2).

Before I try to germinate or trade these I want to identify it. The plant in pictures 1 & 2 are the actively growing ones near it,

which I believe it to be. Like most Yucca and Agave, when it blooms it dies, so the original plant has no leaves left.
