I have my beans in between two double rows of tomatoes and never give that location a second thought. Nor is there an issue with planting corn close to tomatoes. The diseases, bugs and such that tomatoes attract are not the same as either of those. They will be fine all in the pool together IMO.

Tomato fruit worm /Corn ear worm is the reason I have heard for not planting them together. That and they are both pretty demanding on the soil. I have heard plenty of people say they grow them together all the time without a problem.

Beans are said to be good companions for both tomato and corn. After the beans die back they add much needed nutrition back into the soil. Corn is a nitrogen piggy and beans fix nitrogen from the air. I have bush garden beans planted in an expanse between my corn and tomatoes.

I'm obviously not an expert on the subject but this is what I got from my research efforts while planning our garden.

Thank you both so much. This is just the info I wanted. Will plant my corn, beans and squash tomorrow right there next to the tomatoes. Everything is dug and ready to be planted. I feel good now.

Potatos (as in Irish potatos) and tomatos are not good together, mostly because of a common insect pest (Potato or "tater bug" as we called them). It eats the leaves of potatos until they are havested (if planted as early as possible usually July), and then moves on to tomatos. Corn, the corn worms don't bother tomatos that I know of or have seen, and this is from raising acres of both in my youth. Corn worms usually aren't a huge problem even in corn as they can be cut out. Beans go with anything, as anything that attacks them goes for them specifically and nothing else. I am old school, and we were still "organic" other than conventional fertilizer. My father had nearly 10 acres of produce as I was growing up.
