Ingrid my hubby took the picture this afternoon. Because of the brug seedling I crawled in there lol

I just went outside and took some pictures. It must have *drizzled* some.

But I knew that all the buds must be open by now. It does smell SO sweet! Last year when I grew it, thinking it was a double purple and it turned out to be mostly white and just with a purple edge on the outside, I was crushed. Daniella send me double and triple seeds right away.

But as it turned out, this Datura made up with the fragrance !! Besides the weird thing was, that once it got colder, it produced some double blooms!! So now I am eager to find out if it does it again this year. {{gwi:558375}}From Pictures for GW friends

Just took this picture and I really fell in love with this one SLOWLY, but I do love it a lot now!

Ingrid the difference is how the blooms grow up or down. Datura is easy going. I even took a LONG branch that was taking the space away from the brug seedling behind it and stuck it in the whiskey barrel with EE and Canna's. Lots of watering. Well it does not only look good..it is putting on buds and when I pull on it...I can not pull it out. so it must have rooted!

LMAO, its so big its hiding the EE's!!! Lucy, that is so awesome! I WISH mine would get that big! And I thought my 6 footer was big! Its piddly compared to yours!

Rigo no it did die back all the way. There was NOTHING that indicated that it would come back and I did not mulch or anything.

It is growing in my GIANT flowerbed....ALL just grows HUGE! I had the grand Idea. I will do my 1st soil test!!! Got to figure out why things grow so much bigger then in other places.

But I just stand in front of this Datura with a open mouth and in awe. It truly is very very beautiful and Daniella remember how the fragrance made me love it, last year? Well imagine it with tons of blooms!!!!

I had thought datura is annual and did not live through winter. Amazing! very pretty and I wish I could smell it.

Changsong the Datura's have like TUBER roots. Get really HUGE here in TX. The whole plant had died back but the tuber just keeps on living and even though this one is really not in a great spot...I will NOT ever move it. For I love that thing!

have you grown one before? If not, you should try one!!

LOL El, I thought the same thing regarding Lucy's pants. I would have dirty muddy hands smears all over my butt from wiping my hands, lol.dirty wet knees..I've ruined so many nice things out there. SOmetimes I'm dressed nice, and just go to check on something..before I know it I'm in there gettin dirty, w/out thinking wiping my hands on my clothes.

Just ask Kristy what I wear when I garden. Went over there last week. Thinking oh well I just drop off the pears and then continue my work...Wore my old ripped pants full with paint from the house. Low and behold her NEIGHBOR was there and wore white pants roflmao and the look she gave me, said it all. Last time I go out like that. Good thing Kristy had told her that I am a friend she met pulling out weeds for her. Now the lady thinks that I am a weed puller roflmao

Wow, that is a huge dat! Its beautiful Lucy. Don't worry about my stupid neighbor. I'm still mad that she said that. You wear whatever you want when you come to my house. I had one my bathing suite when you came over, lol. Thats the last plants that neighbor gets from me is what I gave her before you got there. I couldn't believe she asked you to come pull her weeds. I only told her you had helped me when I wasn't able to do it and she should put an ad on craigslist and ask for help weeding in exchange for sharing cuttings of her plants. What a witch.

Oh Kristy don't you worry about that any longer. I did not pay any attention to it.
