First of all thanks for sharing the mushrooms with us (at least to taste visually :-) and I hope you had good luck on your spore collection. My question is about spore handling. I watched the link you posted and yes he is creepy sounding. He kept stressing sterilization. Now nature is far from a sterile environment and mushrooms grow just fine in nature. Does anyone know the importance of sterilization when spore collecting / processing ? I wondered if it was the 'type' of mushrooms he was dealing with. I can understabd it for the edible ones. For me I would want to do edible mushrooms and possibly a few non-edible. We have recently learned about using mushrooms to help decompose wood chips which we will have a bunch of soon. What I learned was that if you add mushroom spores to the chips it helps them decompose better. After seeing the cost of mushroom syringes I cringed. I would pay that for edibles but would probably buy a kit instead. I was considering walking around and collecting spores of normal mushrooms via the print method you described and using them on the wood chips or simply taking those shrooms and dropping them down on top and letting nature do the rest. If I need to take prints I really did not want to go through so much trouble for the non-edible ones. Would someone with experience in shrooming touch on my question and ideas or offer better/less expensive ways of getting shrooms to assist the decomposition of the chips ? thanks !

Glad you got your greenhouse but sorry your bank was robbed. Its pretty stupid to me too. They always catch them. The junk guys that collect our scrap were just here. I told them to look and see if they have a louver vent for my greenhouse or other things I might need. I hope they find me one, lol. Good to know people in the junk business every now and then. I got a wall and a half done on it then my neck started hurting too bad and I had to quit. Maybe we can do some more this weekend. Post pics when yours is done so I can see it.

Hi all, I need to clarify, Carter & his corporation, Van Corp Media, produced a TV pilot about 2 years ago, starring Dustin, which is still being marketed. Carter is not involved in this movie, but Rick was involved with Carter in the TV pilot. I met Carter and the others from Van Corp Media, spent an entire weekend with them actually, and Carter is so nice. Everyone tells him he should be an actor or model & he says he loves working with his hands and what he's doing on HGTV. Cogratulations and sorry you had to miss him, he is so adorable!! I too am a brand new AUNT my niece had a babygirl Tuesday and she is so so cute today I was a terrible person my niece wanted the babys ear pierced and so I was called to do the dirty deed and I did! The baby did not even cried!! I used self piercing earings and diped them in oralgel to numb the earlobe as the earing was going thru. again Congratulations!! Marcie

Great grand kids are great, too. One of my greats is named after me. William Joseph Zablocki IV. Cool, huh? All 5 generations of us first borns. :-)

DD went to the ER yesterday . She had a Spinal leak from the Epidural . They had to go back in do a Spinal Tap near the leak and insert blood to stop the leak.. She home miserable but trying to rest!!! Here is a pic of Fin. The boy already has more Chins than a Chinese phone book..LOL

Oh Lords Kyle! LoL That's so funny, I couldn't help but laugh aloud on that. :) He's a butterball like my eldest! :P A cutie! Hope she is doing better, I never had one of those epidurals, refused to cuz I was scared of having anything stuck in my spine! Tell her to take it very VERY easy and not lift anything heavier than that baby. Keep us up to date Kyle. :)
