Wow - lots of ideas! Love your pics. I have removed arborvitae in the past and donated them to my sister, so they may not totally go to waste if you can find a new home for them - or move them to another part of your yard. I agree - they don't work in all areas. I'd add some gold mops cypress or something with yellow/gold foliage for an evergreen. I like the shrub border idea. If you stagger the bloom times, you've got something going all year to compliment that goregous rose. I use peonies viburnums, hydrangeas, lilacs, grasses, rose of sharons, azaleas, butterfly bushes, the list is endless, dogwoods, willows, nine bark diablo, etc. Try to incorporate some interesting textured and colored foliage. It makes the border more interesting and last longer when the shrubs aren't flowering. Good luck - great ideas you've been getting.

I have 7 rolls of the ornamental single loop fence available. It is new (never used) and is perfect for the victorian, cottage or farmhouse yard, garden, pet area etc. I love it, but decided my yard is just too big to fence in, so I used it for just my pet area. It is VERY VERY hard to find I know since I looked for it for over a year before I found it. I'll be sad to let it go, but would love for someone to use it as I originally intended. My loss is certianly someone's gain. This fence is selling for nearly $300 a roll (+ shipping) and I've seen it for $475.00 per roll just today. This is the 48" fence and is 100 foot rolls . As mentioned, we've been working hard to get this back for customers, and we're getting close to stocking it soon in the single loop. One upgrade will be to use a thicker wire than the old double loop fencing produced state side the last 150 years. Some of the pictures posted in this forum show the irregular weaving, which probably resulted from using thin 11-gauge wire on the old fence. For folks with an eye on quality, we think the 8 gauge wire single loop fencing makes a better pattern and elegant design possibilities for a premium bungalow style. Melissa, love the pictures! Your yard is maturing so beautifully. I too, love the headboard idea and the gaura and blue basil are amazing. Yes, our yards are bad now, but with spring we'll be happily planning and planting again. By the way, I love the purple ruellia with the firebush. Great color contrast. Sun worshiper, isn't the farfugium a great plant? I have tried every which way I know to propagate them. I have spread seed, I have chilled the seed in the fridge for weeks as I saw somewhere, I tried from leaves like begonias. I also tried to secure the flower stems to the ground to see if that distal little leaf would form roots. Nothing. I do have a 3-4 year old plant that looks like it has a baby- but the baby has been the same size all year. I think maybe it came up from the roots? Mine do get bigger. Almost like they get more than one head, but it takes a couple of years. Maybe that's why they're so expensive. I buy them when I see them though, because I rarely see them. I plan on getting more because they are so easy and always look good, especially in cool weather. Let me know if you figure out a way to propagate, and I will post if I do too. Anyone out there know?
