I believe it is illegal to propagate or clone the Knock Out roses because they are registered. It says, âÂÂAsexual propagation without proper authorization is prohibited.â I have done propagation on antique roses. My daughter who is 6 is very interested in butterflies and etc. I would love to have some for SASE. I don't have anything that is not common - orange lilies, hosta ( they are named but i loss the tags - all white flower and one elephant ear) Please let me know. Pauline, I move the potted 'Knockout' into the garage when it dips down to freezing only to protect the terra-cotta container that the rose is growing in. It's the "real" terra-cotta and is perfectly aged to have that cool looking moss on the sides. I love that look, and don't want it to crack. You are right that the rose itself would have no trouble at all handling our winter outside in a pot. We've had several nights so far this winter when the temps have briefly dipped down to as low as 25F or so, then warmed up when the sun came out.
