Spider Mites Prefer Meyer Lemon over other citrus?

I have ponderosa lemon, meyer lemon, red naval orange, and persian lime plants in pots along with rooted cuttings from the meyer lemon, limes and orange. I have recurring bouts with spider mites, but they seem to attack mostly the mature meyer lemons. One plant is almost touching the orange which, so far, has not been affected by the pests. Are meyers more susceptible or am I just lucky to this point. So far, the cuttings have not been attacked. I have been spraying the affected trees with soapy water whenever I first notice them and they are okay for a couple weeks.
