Daniella I'm so proud of you for your first blooms ! Good job. There are very few people that can actually do what you did. So many start the seeds, but can never take them to flower... give yourself a pat on the back !

Daniella amazing!! I have never grown a brug from seed and I never seem to get blooms from my cuttings until the end of summer, actually fall, or year 2. Our zones are about the same I am just across the river from Trenton. I don't think I fertilize them enough. You are really quite and amazing gardener congrats!!!

I hope its not just beginner's luck, lol. This is my first year with seedlings, and I am just still soooo excited over this. I must have been out to look at these two about 50 times already this morning! LOL!

I see that the blooms on the ones in the first set of pix, the IxEA..the blooms that should be opening tonight are already getting that pinky/mauve color to them..its almost dare I say..a shade of lilac? it has that really light mauve/lilac look. I WISH I could get this camera to show the true color!!!!

The open bloom on the second seedling/second set of pics, still has some light yellow to it, and the veining in the bloom is yellow.

Sianna, can I ask, are you from PA originally?

Mauve, that is the color that my Inspiration is, thanks for that input. Your seedling definitely has a lavendar cast to it, so it takes after mom for color. How exciting; you're gonna be out there dabbing pollen on it before you know it.

The second seedling sure has the twangers going. I'm partial to twirling twangers! LOL! It will be fun to see how these seedlings do for you if they have another flush before frost and how they do next year. Good luck on more, more, more, of your seedlings blooming. Don't know if we can take the excitement ....... but we'll try! ;-)

I just had the 10 yr old outside with me, and she was evaluating the seedlings, and Cypress Gardens. She says she prefers the white with yellow veining seedling over CG. She says it smells way better, looks better, and the corolla is super fuzzy..we like that!!
She looked at the IxEA, and said 'thats weird!' LOL! She said it reminds her of a star, not a typical star, but a star like a ball..whatever that means, lol.

It was great to see her out there so interested in the seedlings, and the way she was talking while comparing CG & the Not'E'x? seedling...it was awesome, the way she was describing things...I think I have a future partner in brugs here!!!

I like them thar twirlin twangers too! lol! I have 4 blooms on that one right now, one more ready to open, and lots more buds!
On the IxEA I have 6 open, and lots more buds..seems like it is a little more peachy now..hmmm..but it still has a bit of that light mauve/lilac color to it, more noticeable in the folds.

I went to high school with a girl with the same name, I know its ridiculous, and a total shot in the dark, lol..but I was just wondering cuz PA is so close to Jersey. I know its crazy, you're prob not the same girl, lol.

Ok anyway, lol..X5C IxEA is driving me insane..since this afternoon she has had that lilac color back to her! More so when you look at her head on, and you can see it in her recurve. Am I crazy? Check out these pix..I didnt use flash cuz I wanted to try and get the true color..

I forgot to say that the first three pix are this morn, and the last two are this evening..I just wanted to post both so you could see the diff..be honest with me..is there a dif or is it just me goin loony?
