OT: POTD: One more day and Texas has me back

To all a wonderful good morning

Like my DD said yesterday when she came back, there is no place like home. Which I am just a home body lol and miss mine too.

this is my no name GIANT BLOOMING white Datura

I SO much hope that I will be able to see some very maturing BRUGMANSIA buds!!! I really truly need a fix!!

Hope everyone gets to enjoy this day. Just do it...take just FIVE minutes all to yourself :-)

I love the datura bloom, you do take great pictures.

Well, Lucy, your giant Datura looks suspiciously like the one I'm growing! So when the seeds are ready, I'm a gonna send you some, and you can compare! I think the difference between your plant and mine is good old Texas sunshine! Mine gets about waist-high at best!

Beautiful Amaryllis, mine got too tall this year also. Brrrrrrrrrr is right! Here in San Antonio we are expecting the coldest weather in 40 years. We might not get above freezing on Friday! Many of the plants I brought in a few weeks ago are sprouting new leaves. The first hard freeze snuck up on us and I accidentally left the Duranta out and thought it was dead, but now it's sprouting new leaves. Even one small Brug cutting that got left out is now sprouting from the bottom even though the top is shriveled. We'll be moving the Christmas lights over to the plants that are too big to bring in.

Siam I know, cause Hubby will not be after I get back and they are dead rofl. Just kidding. I do my best every day and with the heat increasing...it is even hard for me to keep em all happy. Maddy and I sure will have a great time. I wish I lived closer to the other 2 grandkids. But not complaining. Pam my neighbors are all sickly and up there in age. I mean really up there. You know, like a little boy says to mommy at the store...look mom, this lady is REALLY old. Well...I guess through out life....when you look at someone who is a LOT OLDER....you just can not help yourself lol I like this Lantana too. Have a few other colors. But for Amadeus' resting place I found a white one at Lowes and not a plain purple one that I have already. But purple with pinkish white blooms also. Lucy

When I googled for the JOO and saw the variegated kind, I said WOW now that one is pretty too. After some of you mentioned how dark green the leaves are...I went and looked at all the other plants. I think it might have to do with the soil. The bed in the front is more sandy and does not hold water well. I have even improved it a lot this year and it is still not as good as I would like it to be. But THERE the leaves are a LOT lighter then in all the other places. So I do not know if it is just the soil? some are in full sun. Some are in only morning Sun and some are in afternoon sun and all but the one in the front have lush dark green leaves. Since I like it so much I transplanted one in EACH flowerbed today lol Karyn thank you again. You made growing this plant SO much more fun Lucy

Dorothy it is the same. Mine looked just like it when it was baby spinach lol I rarely look at the leaves though. Because the blooms are just gorgeous how it looks hanging over the top. It grows SO FAST it is not funny. Got to nib it back a lot. Mine gets LOTS of water...of COURSE>..it is ME we are talking about hahahahaha and is in the ground. thanks Susan and Joyce. Joyce does that sound like I found a taker for a plant I can share with you when I did em up? that is if the cats leave me some. I swear some are so bare and show no re growth what so ever :-( yet. The weather in central Texas has been near perfect this week and should continue this way for quite a few months. That is one of the great things about living here.

Mike lol, I think Caren just got her own Toto lol I might not remember all witches names from WOO, but I sure always loved to watch it with the kids.

Eloise I guess you know very well what that means....how are you doing with settling back into your home?

Ann you could be right. This one is about as tall as I am and in full sun all day.

Glad you all enjoyed this trumpet, even if it is just one that goes up......man I guess I am some sort of trumpet too....I get bigger and bigger and today I even go up up and away roflmao
