Just some update photos of my plants

I wish to share some update photos of one of my succulent plantings. The plants have been outside all the time, sun or rain.

Most plants in the disk are pupping so it looks rather crowded. I have removed two plants (?) on the right side because they have grown out of proportion and replaced with a pup and a haworthia.

You can see what I just said in these "Before photos" below.

Hello HaXuan, your pots look great. I once collected succulents. But over the year they don't look as good as your so I slowly gave them to friends. You are the first Vietnamese I know in this web site. I am also very new to the site, but because I like plants so I often check in to learn few things about expert gardener.

I'm a regular lurker/occasional poster on Gardenweb forums (African violets, Amaryllis, Bromeliads, C&S, Cottage and Hoyas). Wow, quite a few forums because I grow all those kinds of plants.

I would be interested in San Marzano tomato seeds and lemon cucumber seeds. I have Old Kentucky tomato - an orange, beefsteak style tomato. I like the flavor of these and they grew very well this year. I have red Oxheart tomato - these are fleshy (meaty?) and did pretty well. Took a bit longer to mature. I also have some California Wonder pepper seeds. I cannot tell you about these particular ones because someone near and dear to me forgot to water my seedlings while I was on vacation and those all died this year. But, I have seeds from 2013. If you have any interest in these, I'd love to trade with you. -Matt

Update on my succulent plantings (very heavy photos)

Hello Pat Thanks for dropping by my post and leave your comments. Re potting medium in these succulent dishes, I used crushed granite (very fine pieces, around 2-3mm in size) and fine pine bark (also in the same size) in the ratio of 2-1 or so (I'm sorry I don't remember exactly the ratio because I made these dishes over a year and my memory is not very good. But that ratio seems 'right' to my eyes.) If you want to use the same thing, you can just judge by looking, ie the medium should not look "dark" meaning too much bark. It should look somewhat "white" meaning more granite. I use that medium for all my succulents. All dishes have drainage holes. Bigger dishes have 4 holes, some others have 2. I always place a little piece of broken clay pot to cover the drainage hole. I fertilize the plants once a month or so with Osmocote, or similar NPK fertilizer. I water the plants in the dry season and/or when there's no rain for 3-4 days in a row. My climate is rather wet but I have never had any rot so I think the medium works fine. I'll be bringing in stuff tonight and the rest of the week. We are supposed to have temps in the TWENTIES!! The coldest in a decade. Going to buy hay to pile around some of the plants, stuff will come in that has never been in before. I have a hoya that is growing up the trees, along the ground and wound around the hook it hangs on, I'm thinking of just cutting off the parts up in the tree & along the ground, yanking up/down/out whatever I can. Then I can bring the plant pole & all in the house. Otherwise it will die. Geez I hate this! Ya'll stay warm. I know what you mean, every year I think about getting a shade house or a greenhouse and never do. This may be the winter that finally gets us off our rears & do it huh? The bf is just as much a plant nut so he'll be bringing in bonsai, he's already working out how to cover some of the bigger plants. Tally Ho!

just gorgeous! I love the way the combination of plants works together - nice job!

and from what I can see in the background, you have a lovely garden. Being out here in the desert, I really love looking at pictures of gardens from more humid, tropical places - helps me cool off when it's 110 degrees outside!! :-)

Wow, what a change in colour. What are the two plants at the top and bottom of the first picture? The bottom one in particular looks like a completely different plant. The new conditions don't seem to be bothering it much though if the new growth is anything to go by.
