Caterpillars on Buddleia

Hello everybody,

since I received such great info here a while ago and remain a "lurker" the remaining time I thought I would ask all the experts here another question.

I have searched the web and the only info on Butterfly bushes is that they are hostplants to the butterflies. I can find nothing on what kind of caterpillars would eat buddleia. (I ordered the "Caterpillars of Eastern North America" book but it will be about 2 weeks until it gets here).

I now have these caterpillars on 2 different buddleias. The smaller ones are shades of green in the same color as the leaves on the plant. They have a whiteish stripe down the middle and often hang on the plant in a kind of "contortionist" way. Looks like 4 pairs of legs in the middle, kind of like a looper. The older caterpillars turn a brownish shade. The backends are almost triangular and pointy.

If anybody knows what they could be, I would appreciate more info about them. And again.... thanks for all the valuable information!
