Yet another Heat Wave

106F/42C? I think so. Back East, they call the late Autumn heat waves 'Indian Summer'. Here on the West Coast, we just call 'em heat waves.

The Solar Azimuth is getting lower toward the horizon and the jet streams have begun to wobble, taking huge dives down from the Tropic of Cancer toward the mid latitudes and sweeping back up again on the other side of rotating low pressure zones that form comma shaped cloud patterns moving across the USA. On the upswing, we get heat in the middle of high pressure cell, while the downswing brings on the Arctic temps with the low.

106F/42C is predicted by Friday.

Enjoy it California Gardeners! It's Labor Day weekend and that picnic is going be ripe for lots of ice on hand.

Find a shady tree for the picnic table in the park.
