2 different colors on same plant?

As you will notice there is a white one and a yellow one on the same plant, the other plant is the pink one that has not opened yet. Yes I know they are wilted, they get too much sun. It is 3 pm here and they are still in full sun, going to move them next year. I bought some epsom salt. Is it still ok to put some on them while blooming and do you still fert. with Miracle grow while blooming? Has anyone else ever had 2 different colors on the same plant? I will look tommorow to see if the colors have changed. These are left outside in the ground all winter with no mulch, but they are so close to the house I guess that is why they made it without mulch.

beeautiful plants! I wish mine looked that good! You'll probably find that the yellow blooms will turn white as the blossom matures! I have three different plants and none of the mature blossom colors are the same as when they first emerge from the calyx. Can't wait to see more of your photos!

Your plant is beautiful. Many brugs blooms change color as they mature. It's not uncommon to see 2 or even 3 different colored blooms at the same time.

It simply means that the soil for the blue one is more acidic than the pink one. I have a pair which are only 3 ft apart and different colors. Bob, I have that on one plant too. The lower/earlier flower is pink/purple abut the upper flowers are blue. I think that is because my lower/earlier flower started before I added aluminum sulfate which blued the upper flowers later. Without knowing the species you have, it's impossible to say for certain. Caveat aside, "sports" are not uncommon among certain passiflora types. Passiflora caerulea is most famous for this, producing blue and white flowers normally, but occasionally growing vines that have all-white flowers. Cultivation and propagation of these white cuttings has led to the popular "Constance Eliott" white-flowered plant. The native incarnata also has a reputation for extreme flower variability. Flowers can look very different from year to year, and the same plant can have different colored flowers blooming simultaneously. "Alba" is a white form of incarnata similar to "Constance Eliott." Sorry, I should have been more clear. Yes, these pods came from the same plant. The one yellow pod was the first one I picked about 5 weeks ago. It was low on the plant and essentially covered with leaves to the point I did not notice it until I pulled branches aside. The remainder were just picked yesterday and are much more Orange. They never went through a "yellow" stage. I assume this can happen in F1's? On a side note, tonight I had 1/2 a pod of one in the second picture and holy crap they were hot.

I also have a Raspberry Sundae that does not look like either GardenHo's peony or yours, Joopster. Sorry to say but I don't think yours is a correctly labeled RS peony, Joopster. The center is too light a pink to be RS. I don't know what it is. Can it be Angel Cheeks? Not sure.

My brug is an orange but the blossoms start out white. Give it a day or two and you will get true colors! Nice looking plants! You absolutely CAN fertilize when brugs are blooming, just make sure that you are fertilizing with a fertilizer higher in phosphorus (the middle of the three numbers). It helps during the bloom stage. when they come out of bloom, then fertilize with a higher nitrogen ( first number) and potassium (last number) fertilizer! It helps to keep the plant nutrients in balance. If you fertilize with a high nitrogen fertilizer NOW, you will see a decrease in blooming. Good Luck!!!!
