For those who are asking, here is a pix of a mature double yellow seed pod. Note it is starting to split.

When I noticed this, I cut it off the mother plant and put it in a plastic bag not sealed. I do this because they have a tendency to literally explode. I will harvest the seeds once the crack starts to expose seeds and clean them when the pulp is almost dry. This variety of datura has bumpy pods, others have spiny pods.
Be gentle handling split pods like this because they can explode in your hand sending seeds everywhere. Not good if it is indoors and you have pets and toddlers and ALWAYS remember to wash your hands after harvesting the seeds of datura before touching anything else. Remember, datura is toxic.
