No. They never ripen when I try, so I stopped trying. I once got some off my existing vines into February, though, and I get green tomatoes sometimes and fry them up (but I really shouldn't).

I'm near Pasadena, so I think I'm 9a? Last October I planted one nursery-bought "Jet Setter" in October. The plant pooped along all winter(no cover), giving an occasional mater but nothing special. Came spring it really took off. It started pumping out big quantity in May and there is still no sign of stopping. The maters are about 4-5 oz, round, well-balanced. I'm starting a cutting now. If the cutting doesn't take off I'll buy a seeding in September.

I also had a volunteer Sweet 100 that started late. But it produced all winter. Every few days there was enough to go with the lettuce.

I'm also going to try a winter zucchini this year. Digital Seed calendar says to do it in December but I think I'll plant the seed in October.

My garden is not as busy or crowded in winter, so I figuer why not plant one or two to try?

I'm in zone 9 - near Fresno. I plant out my tomatoes in Spring. They struggle along in the heat all summer, then finally start producing again in Sept. I usually have tomatoes well into December, and sometimes even January.
