cactus ID tall spiked spine pnk flowers

Hello everyone. .I was given this cactus. It has grown quite a bit. Has long spiked stems with pinkish flowers at tops. I'd like to prune it. I'm a real novice at gardening. Anyone know the ID of this? Also appreciate suggestions on how to cut it down down. I also have another cactus I'd like to ID. Will post photo in.a bit. Thank you .

I'd be willing to bet that this is a cactus. I have a crown of thorns and other Euphorbias and this doesn't look ANYTHING like them. It was sold as a cactus back when I bought it (but I've lost the name tag long ago.) The needles grow in clusters (about an inch between each cluster) of 3 or more. If I'd never topped it, it would be over 14 feet tall now. I would take a pic of it, but I have an indoor jungle and it's back in a far corner where I can't get a good shot of it. I have plants growing in about every window and, in my southern facing windows (where this cactus is at) the plants are three pots deep from the window. In this same window I have two hibiscus trees(and more as bushes), an Oleander and a citrus tree all growing taller than me, as well as smaller bananas, a jasmine bush and an Australian Bluebell bush (and many smaller plants.) I have another room that's half filled with plants. It won't be until later Spring when I can put most of these other plants outside that I can get a good photo shot of it. Thanks!

Good grief, just googled 'Saguaro' only to find the thing lives for 200yrs and grows over 80ft high!! I think dear 'lil Spikey will have to be passed to any grandchildren that come along...and their kids, followed by theirs too for many more generations to come at that rate! Got some thick furry material and wrapped it round the stem and managed to extract it from its pot without stabbing myself too much this time. Repotted in a bigger pot with fresh cactus compost and gave it a drink...sorry, forgot to check the Phoenix forecast...oops!...LOL...now awaiting a massive growth spurt through the roof followed by flowers. Thanks for the ID. Gill.

Update: I moved to the Caribbean 11 months ago and brought my sorry, three legged Lepismium?? with me. It's grown a bit but is still a tiny thing. Maybe now we can better ID it??? It hangs happily on a porch, receiving 5 hours of morning sun, then indirect sunlight the rest of the day. I noticed most of the tips and edges have turned reddish since relocation. It also has little white 'beards' all along its stalks. However, it has never flowered. Perhaps it needs more sun? And, by the way, what's up with this Tanzanian Zipper? Those are Echinopsis pups in there with this Tanzanian Zipper. I received it as a cutting with 3 others that died within a week. This one looks the exact same size it looked two years ago! It's still alive but never grew one root and appears to be in a perpetual snooze. Any ideas how I can jolt this one to life? Or perhaps it's time to throw in the towel. I dont think size matters when it has to flower. I have a similar looking cactus and it is maybe 2" in height and its flowered.

Your milli is lovely! It makes a statement.

Look at this "bush" that is mine. The backstory is . . . hubby ripped out about 15 crown of thorn plants that were the borders of 2 different areas. They had not been trimmed in ages and really were bad looking. And he didn't like the thorns. Well, this one came back and I convinced him to leave it alone.

After finally having a healthy plant, I also convinced hubby to quit trimming it like a hedge. Now my mission is to "sculpt" this into a prettier plant that can be a statement, like yours. I should have done this a while ago, but better late than never.

I have this one for a year now, still didn't get enough courage to repot/prune...It is in not so great soil, and together with TC that may appreciate less sun?
It is almost 50" tall now, never stopped blooming yet. One of these day I'll cut it down; it is really top-heavy.

Just to remind you, this plant has white sap like the fire sticks euphorbia you asked about in your other post (hope you don't panic, just exercize caution when handling broken/cut branches - sometimes, gloves are your best friend).

Wow :-) You Gardeners really like my COTs! I had no clue (after viewing yours) what it looks like with the flowers & green leaves at the top. I wanted ti cut back because I thought it was ugly :) Guess I won't now. Rina...thanks for the tip..I shall be cautious. I'm so happy I joined. .
