i know this is probably not what you are going to do, but those plants you have are perfect for dart frogs. two would be a great number for your size of tank. they are not poisonous in captivity, they have a mutualistic relationship with any good terrarium plant (especialy carnivourous and bromiliads), most are extremely easy to take care of (depending on species.) and all are just plain beutiful. for this you will want a terrestrial frog for starters (d. azures- blue with black spots) or (d. auratus) black or brown with blue or green wavy ring like markings) sorry to ramble on i am not an expert on carnivourous plants (but i do have some of my own) i just thought that you might like to hear about that. they do help with the fertilization and care of the soil and plants though... :)

Actually, I'm not on here much myself. As for dormancy, I'm well aware of what it is, no worries. The fly trap I have sold, anyway, as the tank is FAR more full now than it is when I took that picture, and I needed the room. And even then, I have some Cephalotus and perhaps some other things that I need to sell/trade off for additional space. The tank will also be upgraded to a 75 gallon soon, with 2 x 130W 6500K PC lighting (I'll post pictures when done...probably not until after the New Year, though. I'll try to get some pictures of the current terrarium today or tomorrow. I've let some of the plants get a little out of control, and it's not as clean as I'd like, but so be it.

Mexican butterworts, D. spatulata, P. primuliflora, D. capensis, to name a few. If you're not going to have a pc fan, I would stringly suggest that you leave the top open as much as possible, to prevent mold.

I'm currently growing a Nepenthes ventricosa as well as Nepenthes maxima x talangensis seeds (that haven't germinated for about a month, which is typical) under lights, by a window. I was a bit concerned because of the light that it gets. It's a SE window with a total of 2000 watts along with reflective surface in a 20-gallon terrarium.The plants are 5 inches under the lights. I'm concerned because the weak lights, and because the window is above the terrarium ; only a few strong rays shine everyday. The ventricosa is fine ; grows new leaves quite fast but only has one pitcher.. I'm getting an Oncidium twinkle and I'll probably end up adding pings, sundews, phals and paphs. Because of the size of the terrarium, I was thinking about changing my setup.. Would a unblocked, East (bordering North-East, although it does get some sun) with a table stretched out be enough? I was thinking about adding around 5000 lumens (with a two-bulb 48" fluorescent) as supplemental lighting and keeping the nepenthes and paph. in the terrarium.
