No summer for the northeast this year...

Hi -

As we approach summer, and it continues to show no signs of showing up weather-wise here in the northeast, I wanted to reach out to any fellow C&S-growing sufferers in the area to see how you are coping.

Do you just leave'em all outside (come chill and rain) and pray that your soil mix holds out? Do you do a little of the "indoor/outdoor shuffle"? Do you get them their own umbrellas and raincoats?

I will confess, I have done a bit of all of the above (except for the raincoat thing...).

Some of my succulents (e.g., my oppies, commiphora, dorstenia and euhporbs) were really starting to push growth early in the spring (when we hit the 90s, go figure!) have since slowed down quite a bit. I know that this jet stream nonsense will give up at some point - but until then do I let them tough it out, or do I intervene...?

Or, do I go back to just growing pines and maples...
