SoCal melon struggles

Any others in SoCal having melon troubles?

I grew 3 kinds from seed planted in mid-May. All sprouted fine, but the unusually cool early summer seems to have stunted them - all are only 6" or so tall.

I pulled the worst-looking two yesterday and replanted. Two Hokkaido watermelons and one Tigger melon look like they might be reviving growth now that the weather has warmed.

I had a rough time with melons last year too, but I did get a couple of ripe fruit. Maybe it's me...
