Can I re-use soil that had damaged spinach in the container?

I'm growing spinach in a container which was doing beautifully and we were eating. I went away for 2 weeks and my sister told me the spinach leaves had holes in them. She moved that container away from all the others so our other veggies would not be affected too. We're really not sure if it was slugs, snails, worms, etc.

The spinach seems to be doing better now even though we didn't treat the plants with anything. Should I just continue to let them grow? I'm leaning towards replacing with new seedlings. If I do replace, can I re-use the same soil in the container or should I replace it with fresh? The other containers with arugula, romaine, cilantro, cucumbers, mint, chives, basil and kale were not affected, nor were my tomato plants in the upside down planters which are all in the same area. Thanks for any feedback.
