I can only say that I have read that they are not too difficult to grow from seeds. As for watering, that's really tricky, but the adult plants need very little water most of the time. I would not even water them once a week. To sprout the seeds, you'd have to get specific info from the supplier, but most likely it would tell you to keep the soil slightly moist, definitely not soggy. You might try putting them on a ball of damp cotton and sealing it in a plastic bag or container

Wait until they grow big enough to handle, there is no rush to pot them up. When they first come up they are the size of a pin head or smaller, they like to be crowded. They like to grow inbetween white quartzite rocks. Norma

Not fast growers Since this is a community pot I am just pouring about three tablespoons of water on the center of the Haworthia and Fenestraria once a week while waiting for the Pleiospilos and the old Lithop to complete their leaf withering cycle . The Pleiospilos has almost completed the withering of the two original leaves. The Lithop seems to be taking forever for the old leaves to wither. The three surviving Lithop seedlings are doing fine. It takes a sharp eye to distinguish them from the rocks.

All try to do my best to explain... Light: My biggest mistake here was too much too early. Lost a bunch this way. I now keep them on the edge of my fluorescent lights, where they will probably stay for most or all of the summer. Water: Up until recently, I watered once a day. Just moistening the surface of the soil; never a deep soaking. As I said above, I should have slacked on the water a little sooner. I use an eyedropper to water, while most people use a spray bottle. I water in the late afternoon, when excess water will evaporate quickly. Air: It is very important to have proper airflow. I have a fan running whenever my lights are on. It quickly dries up water that happens to collect on the plants and around them. Hope that helped. EDIT: Get some seeds! It is really a fun experience. Not that hard, either.
